Things go in cycles. The west dominated for several years. Then the east has snatched some momentum the past two years. This was a very good game as we all expected though.

Whitwell has a really good team too. When the teams came out for warmups I thought it could be lopsided for Whitwell. Those Cornersville kids are obviously coached really well though.

Whitwell is bigger but Cornersville looked more solid.

I for one am glad to see the parity. Both in 1A and 2A.  I'd say about 5 teams each class were fairly even.  Who wants to watch a championship game where one team is mud stomped? Not me.  Unless I'm doing the stomping.

Didn't hurt my feelings. Glad you picked them. The team with the least amount of mistakes won the game and that is part of being the best team on the field. I agree that Cville moved the ball better but Whitwell made the stops when they needed to and made the plays that won them the ball game so in my opinion the best team won. Not going to take anything away from Whitwell they are the state champs.
