It's also easier to find 11 to compete with bradley central and Ooltewah when you have 1600 to choose from instead of 250-350. I'm willing to bet WB and schools of that size have larger graduating classes than total enrollment at schools like GB, Oneida or Harriman.

Again, that point would hold better if WB kept all of its best players. Schools like Ooltewah and Bradley Central dont have three state title contenders nearby to draw their best players away. Is there another school in the state, or even in the whole country, with the same problem?

Let's suppose Maryville, Alcoa, and Greenback were all average or even below average. WB would keep all of its players and would probably compete for region championships on a somewhat regular basis despite all the other issues in the program.

Losing players makes a big difference even when you have 1800 kids. Do you think all 900 of our boys are athletes? There's only so many good or great athletes in any given population. So if at any given time 5 to 10 of your kids are playing for other schools, that is going to have an impact. On the high end, that is almost a whole starting unit. That's pretty significant.

Hang on to those boys Guvna.  There are reasons some throw rocks at William Blount. Some hope to see the football players scatter and try to round up a few.  Build a wall brother.  Build a wall with those rocks being thrown.  I'll help.

SECOND ANNUAL GREENBACK BASEBALL CAR SHOW.

March 16 2019 at the high school.

10am to 2pm

I garuntee im not falling for this mess.  You and that helmet man and that muskox man took me to the first annual mess last year when you had me and that goat held hostage.  All you fellars do is pick what pickup truck you are going to sit in and where you get to park out during that Ryan mans games.  You think im joking but im not.

Hate we’re gonna miss this but we are going to WKU for Junior Day invite. Looking at college visits through mid April and we won’t see much of Greenback on Saturdays for awhile. Hope the weather is good!

What kind of mess is this? If that Childress man finds out that a college is trying to give a scholarship to this boy as a junior he will be real mad.  You cant get a scholarship until you are a senior.  You think im joking but im not.

    • As I said somewhere earlier in the thread, the original plans had no outdoor athletic facilities being part of the campus.  The original plan was for HVA to use facilities at nearby schools.  Very late in the process they came up with a plan and found budget to have minimal facilities and crammed them in to space that never was intended for athletic facilities.
    • Agreed, the way the field is turned you get the evening sun blasting right into the press box making filming a nightmare there, plus its so low.  The field is land locked and parking is a nightmare too. Seems like Knox County could have done a lot better there with the design and the quality.
    • I think this upcoming team may be pretty good, they will definately be better up front and if they can replace Dozier, Heyward and Rembert, they can be real good. They have the same strange schedule, but this time with 5 straight home games. The road games at Jeff County, Powell will be tough to open up with and the back side at Bearden is the tough game there.  One question I had if anyone knows: There has been some talk of an indoor practice facility in the past, with the new track area now more of a track area, that kind of leaves a need for a football practice area. Just sayin....
    • I find it hard to believe that 70% of a schools enrollment is zoned for another school district
    • I was told that the indoor facility is happening regardless of the vote on the taxes but it would be a much bigger project with more funds if they vote goes through
