Looks like a good combo right there.  You don't want to give the QB all day to throw that's for sure.

If he tucks it to run its just as lucrative. I'd imagine our qb and your Hanley were similar. I understand he was a dual threat. That reciever is one of many we have that have good hands.

I thought it was pretty good work all around for all teams.. wouldn’t say total domination.. Greenback threw a few picks against Kingston and Midway moved the ball decently at times Greenback made their plays but so did other teams but again it was 7v7.

Yes it was. No domination. All teams were getting after it and making the best out of terrible conditions but they looked to be having fun combining football & slip n slide. I’ve never seen so many football players do the splits in my life. Watching 3 boys fall in kudzu and disappearing until they dug their way out and trying to catch a slippery ball diving in mud puddles was like fun backyard childhood football. Great exposure to playing in wet conditions, but if not for 7v7 there would be little passing attempted.

With all these seniors leaving, I hope people will somewhat overlook us. Now I know not many will ever overlook GB regardless of what we have. But this team will be better than what most are thinking. Just need a few parts to be filled and this team could still be really good.

Greenback will roll snake eyes again and come up with kids. That seems to be the norm lately for you boys. Greenback always has monsters. Bailey Willis, and Brown are all monsters. SP won’t have a lineman or skill player with the size and skill set of those three kids.  They go against the average norm in 1A. They aren’t your regular 1A players. Two guys that are D1 talent in 1A can carry a team. That 8th grader is no exception.  Whitwell and Coalfield both make it to the quarterfinals, but they will be a step behind. SP vs Greenback semifinals 2019. No discussion here!

I figured I would talk about next years team on this thread lol.

One of the new additions that’s coming will be a step up the kid can flat out play and loves contact.

Oh there’s more than two from what I’m hearing. Not for sure on how good they are but we need a few spots to be filled.

I was looking back to when Roy created this website. You boys were trying to tell us to read the tea leaves and some didn’t do it. It looks as though these wheels were in motion before last season even wrapped up. Those parts got filled alright.. with all state caliber players.  From my comment in November quoted here I never doubted what would happen. Where is my pat on the back? We need lessons on how to do this. We’re still a step behind, but hopefully Roy’s goat will turn up something.

    • The only thing that was said at half time of the 45-0 game was Coach Story, he said: "I know y'all have been out there a lot, but kick-off team, y'all need to get down there faster!" Then he and the other coaches proceeded to go into the coaches office and we all went nuts!  It was the only time I can ever remember coaches not saying anything at half time. Definitely a great memory!!!
    • Boyd could actually be a grade below what he is now, but his parents didn't see the need to "redshirt" him like the other city school down the road would have pushed for....

    • Who invited the First Family of Hartsville?
    • When Danny was a senior he was the quarterback on the 82 team and also the placeholder on extra points. At the end of the game Heritage scored a touchdown with very little time left and went ahead 9-0. On the following extra point Danny rose up and threw a perfect pass to one of his receivers which made it 11-0 and Heritage's first win against Maryville since the series started in 77. Maryville fans were highly ticked off because they felt like it was rubbing salt in the wound. The following year when both teams met again at Maryville  the Rebels ran away with the game and after the first couple of touchdowns they went for two points after each score for a pay back and the score was 45-0 at halftime. The following Monday Bob Gilbert the sports eiditor for the local paper bashed Maryville in an article called the Humilation of Teenagers and tore into Maryville even though he was a graduate of the school. Those were the good ole days when Heritage had decent teams and the rivalry between them and Maryville was a fun event to see.
