I am still thinking it runs through District 1, not sold on Hancock's early success based off the Jellico score.... UH and then NG, Hampton and maybe adding in Cland still pretty strong I believe. Not sure what's going on in Roan Mtn. right now but you can never count them out. This year may be as balanced as it has been in a while tho.     I still believe Hampton and Cosby's youth is a wait and see and Greenback is new to the party in bball, :)

If GB had a coach that knew what he had,he would have ran UH off the floor last year in the region game.GB has a ton of talent and every long.Cullen is a clutch player and is hard to handle when the inside out game is on.The problem we had last year in that game was no sign of the inside game.UH lured them into playground ball and that is not what our boys where good at. LK said the I/O games was working against Cosby if so GB will be hard to handle right now but when Willis gets back may be dang good!

You may be right, luckily I get to keep up with both Districts due to where I live. 2 is a lot better with Greenback in it I think their top 3 (Greenback, Hancock, Cosby) can play with anyone in 1 this year on the right night. I'm biased of course because of my Hancock ties, they have some tough guards and are very well coached and when Cosby and Greenback get healthy they'll probably be a handful.

UH is good at doing that to a lot of teams.  They're a solid basketball program.  No one's going to run them off the floor

Cland is talented and the coach is a real likeable guy.  That may be the problem.  Ned and Carp had the ability to get maximum effort out of  their kids.  This bunch doesn't lose any sleep if they get beat and that's a death sentence for a basketball program

Yeah they knew what they were doing and our boys went in with both feet!Yes UH has always been solid.GB was pushing them around everywhere then they got under our skin and boom there it went.

Hancock looked pretty tough tonight given some foul trouble for their big, up and down and making shots and the full court pressure gave GB some trouble. May have some of the best guards in the region. Greenback looked exhausted in the 4th

Yeah goona take a while to get the football boys in Bball shape, whole different range of muscles in Bball.Just been practicing for a week.Hopefully get Willis back after the first of the year will take a few losses until they get up to speed.

    • He may have possibly said that to get the best out of him. Back when I was in school word got out I was going to transfer and Coach Story popped off and ask Coach Wilson in front of the team if Maryville was going to get a jock strap in return on this trade. That got back to me and I got fired up and stayed just to show them up. Now today Coach Story is one of my best friends.
    • Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!
    • Danny Wilson is the only one that come's to mind but I don't know where he is at now.
    • I am pro coach all day long but there are some knucklehead hires for sure.
    • This is a great question. The retirement seemed a little premature. I do not know the coach personally, but I hope he has found what he is looking for. He is a fine Christian man with a lot of principle and morals about him. I wish him nothing but the best. There are some players in the box for the next coach. This is going to be interesting to see how it plays out.
