I would say Greeneville hires with in. They need to look down the road at what Maryville did, Hired Coach Hunt who has been in the system for years. Once you go outside things can go wrong in a hurry. I am sure big name candidates have applied and want the job however, keep in house if you know the right guy is in the room who can keep the program at the Highest level possible. Greeneville is a Special Place. Keep it that way.

Who on the staff has applied? Are there any candidates outside of the program that are serious contenders?

Imo it comes down to Hammonds and Spradlin. Both are coach’s already in the program. Imo it will be Spradlin but the goal is to keep the coaching staff intact. An outside hire isn’t the way to go here.

I’m confused I thought this was a done deal and spradlin was a done deal

Until an official announcement nothing is a done deal.  I can tell you the Devils have once again been hitting the weight room hard and have had College Coaches from UGA, TN, Wake Forest, Pikeville, Georgia Southern, Furman, MTSU, Kentucky, Tennessee Tech, ETSU, and Emory and Henry stop by and check on the Devils

I'm asking because I have been told that Spradlin hasn't/ didn't apply

Hasn’t been that great imo, cause they went from winning the 6A state championship year after year with quarles to now I’m pretty sure they’ve only won one since Hunt took over

Now you’ve got me curious, who have you heard has applied cause from what I can tell devilman doesn’t have a clue cause he went from it’s a done deal 3 weeks ago to now it’s down to 2 people so I’m gonna take what he says very questionably

    • Yep..could possibly have 3 teams ranked in top ten in the same four team district.
    • He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons
    • A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance.  He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.
    • Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
