I’m not going into Details but yes Spradlin did Apply for the position obviously But the job comes down to 2 guys now. Neither are Spradlin. Imo the favorite at this point that I see whether I like it or not is Cody Baugh.

My pick from the beginning has always been Spradlin but unfortunately it’s not going to be him at this point.

Personally I think Baugh would be the best hire cause Greeneville already has one maybe two great defensive minds but not any offensive minded coaches and I really believe that defense was something Baugh was/is missing at Cherokee, atleast if you go from cherokees box scores

I said from the beginning that i thought it would come down to Spradlin or Hammonds  in house or Cody Baugh since he was Ballards OC/QB Coach before taking the job at Cherokee.  I played under all three when all it was the first year Spradlin, Hammonds, and Baugh coached together.  Baugh is a Greeneville Guy and arguable the 2nd best QB that has came through Greeneville being nominated for Mr. Football from a Ballard lead Offense when he was the OC under Zeller .  All 3 are great coaches and i don't think you can go wrong with either 3 unless he can't keep the coaching staff together.  If Baugh does get hired the Devil O will be fun to watch :popcorneater:

Would love to know who is interviewing, if anyone, right now? And at the end of the day....who is really Going To be making the hiring decision? I haven’t heard anything about interviews happening, before this week....but it seems like they would want to make a decision soon.  Sounds like several good contenders for the job.

    • Agree. The man literally sacrificed time, moments, memories you can't get back with his own family for every single athlete at that school. (and many others) To those that continue to be negative about him and continue to bring him up; He's been loyal, hardworking and just his entire coaching career. Ask anyone that actually has a leg to stand on in regard to Coach.
    • Egotistical? That's a new one.  It's funny, I'm friends with two of the younger coaches that he "ran off" as you say. In fact, he helped them find jobs, encouraged them to do what was best for their growing families, provided advice, support and still does to this day.

    • Track has always been big at OR. Ran off about 7 straight titles in the 60s. Your hate for Gaddis runs deep, huh? What did he ever do to you, to make you disdain him that much? You can’t seem to stop talking about the guy. He’s living rent free in your head. Might wanna get that checked out, you don’t wanna go to the grave with that on your heart.
    • This late in the year, you’d have to think they’d go with an Asst. on staff, right? I’m pretty new to the area so still learning how folks do things around here…if Woods stays there to teach, it could be hard on a new guy/staff coming in…
