STRANGE happenings in BDP land these days!

Heard all Assistants that are currently teachers have cleaned out their office. As stated, all were told me reapply. I’d assume a couple won’t return. Going to be interesting to see if those coaches not returning keep their teaching positions after May 19.

My guess is Honeycutt doesn’t return to the staff but that’s my opinion only. No one who makes decisions really care about my opinion though.

Do you know why he did it? Who did he truly want to get rid of on the staff? I am assuming thats why it was done was because he had a couple he actually wanted to go.

I was told Honeycutt isn’t reapplying, if that tells you anything.  I really hate that cause I really like both coaches, but it is what it is.

I’ve known Honeycutt since 1998 and he is the best coach I have ever played for overall. I think it would be a HUGE hit to the program and set it back quite a bit if he isn’t back. Looking back over the past 25 years you will see this team wins with defense and during the years we have been very successful Honeycutt was running the defense. It will be hard to watch without Honeycutt on the sidelines.....  I think I speak for pretty much all of the alumni.

There was a player meeting Thursday morning. Was told that Honeycutt and Jackson were not present at the meeting. Two other assistants who reapplied were in attendance. So I guess there are a couple of openings on Hamilton’s staff.

I love coach Honeycutt and he was easily my favorite coach while I was at White House.  BUT, it’s Hamilton’s show now and it’s his name on the line so he’s gotta do what he thinks is best.  If Hamilton and Honeycutt don’t get along then I don’t see keeping him on staff as a positive situation even though I think he’s a good coach.

It has been quiet around the football facility other than offseason workouts. Basketball is in full swing around BDP country!
