How Whitwell Won The Gold

Alot has been said that South Pitt, Greenback, and Cornersville had outplayed Whitwell. All 3 of these teams were outstanding teams.  Statistically Whitwell may have been outplayed.  however, Whitwell had the ability to fight through adversity, which equals resilence.  To break it down Whitwell won a State Champtionship simple because, they do not give up, they love each other,  have huge hearts, and made the plays when they needed to.   If you give these boys a chance, they will get the job done PERIOD.........

Good post.. I couldn’t agree more. They got tons of breaks in those games. That’s part of it and it usually takes some breaks to win a gold ball.

It is amazing how many good 1a teams don't take the kicking game seriously.  One of the few is Onion City and Wayne County.

I believe Peabody’s field goal made a huge difference in the 2A game. Made it a two score game for a while and put pressure on Trousdale to score quicker.

That was my sons first UT game,he was cold wet upset and extremely happy all in about 2 mins!LOL@

We ALWAYS use our kicker but against WHS we didnt??????
