Cleveland is strong this year, while the rest of AAA is down, so I do not see someone beating them. .

I cant say I agree with the entirety of this statement. Cleveland being strong this year is terrifying because even in their "rebuilding" years they're still a threat for a state title. But I cant say the rest of AAA is down this year. Blackman has the best team they've had in a while. Arlington is up. Wilson Central is still strong. Rossview is strong too. Heck, region 7 is tough this year with Centennial, Summit, Brentwood, Page and Indy all in the same District! That's tough for just about any other team in the state to make it through.

However, that said, Cleveland is ahead of the rest of AAA by a good amount. And I agree, I don't see anybody beating them either. But the rest of the state isn't down. They're just that far ahead.

In D1AAA Cleveland is the class of the field and no one is close!  However, one must ask themselves why Cleveland is so far ahead of the filed?  I would say that its due to the HCWC that feeds Cleveland High School.  You show me a great team that consistently competes for a state championship and typically that is due to a great youth & middle school program.

Baylor will get spanked this weekend in Kansas City and we will see how tough they really are...don’t think they have ever had a champ there

Ryan Parker won the tournament.  He made the finals 2x.  Whimper and Reiniche made the finals.  Reiniche has a couple guys ranked ahead of him in his bracket this weekend.  Baylor made the top 10 last year.  What do you consider getting spanked?  It's a national tournament with 50 teams that was ranked as the 5th hardest in-season tournament in the country by Intermat.

DII will be extremely close down the stretch.  I have heard McCallie folks say that when they are full strength they are the team to beat. It will come down to who is healthy.

2 things.  Higher Calling and a man named Allen Jones. He is Clevelands biggest recruiter.  Bradley's wrestling "legacy" is over until we can find someone close to his power.

Allen Jones a Recruiter?  Is recruiting not  illegal and a TSSAA violation? I have never heard of a TSSAA D1AAA public school recruiting have you? I was always told that only those old nasty D2 private schools recruited.

Wow!  After all those messages you post defending Cleveland, you are going to throw out this barb as an excuse as why Bradley is no longer the favorite?  For once, I am almost speechless.

Not throwing nothing out. Every fan around here knows what's happening. Bradley will always be great or good. Pridr will always have great kids. We just cannot keep up with Jones and Higher Calling.  As you can tellalready,  no AAA school will. Bradley won't take many steps back. Next year they could very well compete for state.

Yep, the money he pours into that program including HCWC they will most likely continue to rule the state. Just imagine if they were able to keep all the kids that even travel to higher calling just to wrestle for them. I mean you have Emory Taylor state champ for McCallie, Cade Holloway-state champ for Notre Dame, Cody Chittum that is waiting to go to Blairs Academy. There are plenty of others, so you can imagine being in that room and how much better you are getting when dealing with those hammers!

I hate to argue with publicly available facts, but Baylor placed 14th last year and the best they have ever done was in 2015 when they did finish 9th. Also only 40 teams.

You are correct about Parker, he was quite good.

Year Baylor CBHS
2009   8
2010
2011   6
2012   14
2013   32
2014 18
2015 9 12
2016 28 21
2017 14 16
Avg Place 17.3 15.6

Either way, they still get spanked this weekend.

You should try harder at arguing publicly stated facts. Stampede press release after the tournament stated that TrackWrestling would have the updated/correct team scores for last year.  I've copied them for you. CBHS should have a great tournament out there this weekend.   Not sure why you want Baylor to fail so badly.

    • Ouch! If he's in the scrap business maybe
    • That's a nice story but has little to nothing to do with what we're talking about.
    • The winds of change are blowing in Hartsville.     Will be an interesting follow.    Would go back to the 90s and turn black the clock!
    • Did he promise you a coordinator job or something if he ever got a head coaching job? He resigned? He was at the top of the dugout last night calling plays. I wonder if those 30+ parents would let him give their kids a ride. by the way the board meeting was last night and it was not mentioned. must have been at the work session earlier this week which is not public. must be trying to keep it quiet.  Since you know so much, how much is Robbie Atwood willing to pay Adam Cothron?  Didn't you slander Eden earlier on here? You also didn't know he was a faculty coach again so how much do you really know? Some people outside this county baffle me with their need to slander others.
    • He resigned smh, and have you ever heard of charged but not convicted. Some people in this county baffle me with their need to slander others. Have you asked any of the 30+ parents that signed a petition to get him reinstated at the board meeting this week how they feel about this? Just let it play out, at the end of the day the only people that will bring TC back are the ones that know what its about at its core.    People hate losing and they aren't used to it at TC. I for 1, and I'm sure others too, understand having a dip in talent and not being able to compete for a state title every year. But in the past, TC teams have outworked more talented teams, they didn't continuously lose the turnover battle, they didn't commit 8+ penalties in several games each season, and I believe several of the folks in town that want Blake out feel as if he is neglecting the history of the program. This is from a source that used to be extremely close to the program (not me lol), Blake gets out of school midday and the players show up and there is no practice plan or itinerary.  I also understand those that are on team Blake, when he has loads of talent, he wins. He does know football and he is a tremendous DC, and if the rumors are true then he will do great things. As for the board member issue, it is what it is, everyone that's true to the county know that and nothing has changed. I agree though that they should strive to make the facilities as good as we can. And as far as potential candidates, I agree there is very few options. West, Vetetoe (yes I know), and couple others that could have some interest. Whatever happens is massive for the program during a pivotal time before the next big wave of stars make their way through.
