Eagleville is now in the drivers seat with wins over Huntland and MC. Seeding is really important this year with the higher seeds hosting district tournament games.

It looks like it could be a year full of tie breakers for seeding. I think the top four teams will split a bunch of matchups. Who can avoid dropping one to Cascade or Cornersville?

Now that first half of district is over will there be much change in standings? Will Eagleville remain undefeated? How does Fayetteville respond when all their players are back? Should be an interesting second half among the top four.

Should be interesting. I have finally been able to catch up on some games thanks to live stream. It looks like it has turned into a 2 team race, but anything can happen. The tournament should be a good one, no matter who wins regular season. I think Eagleville and Huntland will split, Fayetteville will be okay, not sure if they can score with the top two teams. Moore County has been up and down but same thing don't think they can score with the top two.

I don’t see Eagleville going to Huntland and winning. I believe they also have to go to Fayetteville. Another tough trip. My prediction is:

Huntland 9-1

Eagleville 8-2(Possibly 7-3)

Moore 6-4(Possibly 7-3)

Fayetteville 5-5

Cascade 2-8

Cornersville 0-10

Huntland played 4 freshmen quite a bit last night. Looks like both these teams have good young kids.

I’ve thought all year that if anyone other than Huntland won this district/region it would be a huge surprise. I don’t see anyone going there and beating them in a tourney game until a Substate game.

    • The only thing that was said at half time of the 45-0 game was Coach Story, he said: "I know y'all have been out there a lot, but kick-off team, y'all need to get down there faster!" Then he and the other coaches proceeded to go into the coaches office and we all went nuts!  It was the only time I can ever remember coaches not saying anything at half time. Definitely a great memory!!!

    • When Danny was a senior he was the quarterback on the 82 team and also the placeholder on extra points. At the end of the game Heritage scored a touchdown with very little time left and went ahead 9-0. On the following extra point Danny rose up and threw a perfect pass to one of his receivers which made it 11-0 and Heritage's first win against Maryville since the series started in 77. Maryville fans were highly ticked off because they felt like it was rubbing salt in the wound. The following year when both teams met again at Maryville  the Rebels ran away with the game and after the first couple of touchdowns they went for two points after each score for a pay back and the score was 45-0 at halftime. The following Monday Bob Gilbert the sports eiditor for the local paper bashed Maryville in an article called the Humilation of Teenagers and tore into Maryville even though he was a graduate of the school. Those were the good ole days when Heritage had decent teams and the rivalry between them and Maryville was a fun event to see.
