West Tn Class A

I saw the TCA/Peabody game and TCA/Gibson game... difference was, TCA fell apart in the fourth quarter against Peabody and they stepped up in the fourth quarter against Gibson....

Gibson doesn’t need to take Peabody for granted... while they don’t quite have the length of TCA, they still get after it and play hard. Gibson is the better team, but I also said that going into the TCA game.

My Top Ten teams in the state in no particular order and anyone is capable of winning it all.

Clarkrange

Pickett County

Gibson County

Summertown

Greenfield

Loretto

Gleason

TCA

Trenton

Clay County

I understand 8 of these teams are out of 2 regions so 4 of the teams wont make it to state but I think these are the best 10 Class A teams.

.

I agree. Gleason is playing well now as is Peabody and TCA. I believe Clarkrange and Greenfield are the team's to beat in Single A right now and should be ranked 1 and 2 in the AP poll, IMO. GC is not playing consistent offensively. We beat Gleason and Westview in the Westview tournament but we are not playing well offensively. I don't now how they do the polls but Clarkrange and Greenfield are my top 2, IMO.

It is quite possible for there to be a two or three way tie in the district,  What is the tiebreaker if two or three teams split and have the same record?

I don't know but at this stage us playing Halls and Humboldt first two games of District Tournament as a 1 seed might not help us. Our district is so bad other than the first three it is basically like a game off. It may be better for us to play a tougher bracket. We have played our worse ball after playing stretches of teams that are bad.

TCA has a good team and made GC uncomfortable the other night.  I think the problem was GC got a lead in the second half and just put in on cruise control and to there credit TCA never quit and came back and won.   With that said.  Was by far the worst game I’ve seen GC play this year and it still took overtime for TCA to beat them. Let’s see how they respond against Peabody Tuesday night.  But there is a reason GC has only lost twice against the tough schedule they have played.  IMO they were better off losing that game playing poorly than winning it.

I agree. It wasn't a well coached game either. The whole game was strange the way it was coached. We deserved to lose and I agree are better off losing it than winning it. I don't know if you have noticed it or not but when we play bad on offense we are just super slow passing the ball, taking shots, missing open posts, and cutters in the paint and getting the ball up court. It is like they are playing in mud. I don't know if it is just playing individual ball or just they play that slow on offense when they are having a bad night. Very strange. His offensive coaching is a lot more lenient than his defensive coaching.

Keep in mind GC starters and main subs hadn't played a real game in almost 14 days until the Trinity game. They have played their best ball when playing three good teams in a row for some reason.  Very strange. But keep in mind the 2 games he has lost he hasn't had his best offensive lineup in. The coach obviously has a concept some times that we will beat you playing an ugly game of no offense and a lot of defense and you seen it back fire twice this year. GC has got to get better play offensively and start working inside out to loosen up guards. GC has three good post players they have just been abandoned. It is time for GC to start coaching offense every day because GC's defense is probably best in the state as far as points per game. Trinity is a good team and well coached but we hold any team in the state to 30 points in regulation you have to like your chances. I had rather lose now than win ugly now and perhaps lose later and not address issues. GC is practicing today and I bet their whole practice is offense. The state better hope GC's offense don't get better because if their offense is OK they will beat most teams. I will credit TCA again, but I like GC's chances especially in the district tournament no  matter where we are seeded. I don't like polls and I had rather lose now than be ranked number 1.

I dont Understand that comment. Coach did not have his best offensive lineup in. The object is to score more than the other team. This is also the coach that has something like 900 wins???? You short change the two teams that beat you with that kind of comment. GC might very well beat TCA the next time. But TCA will still have their best offensive lineup in though.

He is a defensive guy And wants to create offense with defense. Won him a lot of games but that is his philosophy. He tells girls all the time he don't care how many points you score. All about defense. Nick Saban is a defensive guy. Just the way he believes. No disrespect to Trinity. That is his philosophy.

But Alabama still averaged 40 points a game. And the didn’t score that many the last game and they lost.

Has anybody had the thought that TCA’s defense might have had something to do with GC’s offensive production?  They played tough man to man defense all night long!  For the most part they played great help defense against GC’s drivers.

One of our top three scorers played about a quarter against you guys. Don't know why. Ask Coble he will tell you too. When you got 10-12 players sometimes they get lost in the shuffle.

TCA played well on defense. Good team. We didn't deserve to win that game. No offense but Greenfield is probably the best defense we played.

    • Shopping? His family is loaded and he's 6'6 I'm pretty sure he could start anywhere in upper East TN,So no need to shop. Word is Witten got caught trying to work him out on campus and some 7 on 7 while playing athletics for Sullivan East. Word got around pretty quick and Someone turned them into TSSAA.
    • Quick update on Jacob -  Jacob celebrated his 16th birthday at Vanderbilt on Tuesday and has been in decent spirits.  His sense of humor has begun to show as he was visited by many friends.  He is swallowing a lot better now and has eaten some of his favorites (Chik-Fil-A and Five Guys).   He is getting prepared to head to Atlanta to the Shepherd Center first thing tomorrow morning.  His family has been waiting on insurance approval. In case you dont know the Shepherd Center it a world class facility and supposedly one of the best in the country for spinal injury rehab.  Praying for perfect results there. Considering the circumstances, Jacob is in decent spirits.  He has some reflexive movement in his legs which I think is probably a very positive sign.  Don't read too much into that just yet as there is no telling what the real prognosis is... just hopeful that is good thing.  I am really just happy that it seems like he has a punchers chance of getting something back.  He is a strong young man and very determined so I think he will fight as hard as he can in physical therapy while down in Atlanta. More than one of you has asked me about an address to send donations.  I know GoFundMe isn't for everyone.  If you want to go that route, you can make a check to "Blackman Wrestling Club" and we will pass anything received directly to the Kinderdines.   Jacob Kinderdine c/o Blackman Wrestling 4836 Trevino Court Murfreesboro, TN  37128 Also, want to thank everyone who has donated so far.  Jacobs dad will take a month off work and stay in Atlanta with him.  They need to learn how to take care of him and do home therapy work..... and surely Jacob will be glad his dad can be there.  All that could not happen without you all.  Depending on what happens, they will probably end up doing some home remodeling in order to accommodate Jacob at their home.  Thanks again. Here's a pic I lifted from Facebook of Jacob on Oxy talking to his Uncle.  LOL
