I noticed some soccer districts did it this way, while in others it was win and advance (except for the game you could lose and still advance). That is correct. Every district has it's own way of handling the district tournament.
HOOPSGURU
Top 2 teams in 3AAA and 4AAA automatically qualify for regional. Oak Ridge, Maryville, and Bearden all get region berths. Knox Central and Anderson County are trying for last spot. Central gets it both win out from the tiebreaker.

Maryville will be a tough out in the tournament if they continue to shoot the ball well. As for Alcoa, we just can't seem to get anything going this year. It might be time to think we don't have the right coach for the job. If you can't figure out who your best 5 players are by now then you need to look for another profession. Alcoa basketball deserves better.

The Vikings beat the Tribe in the earlier meeting in Bristol. A win by the Indians secures the district regular season title. A win by the Vikings and Friday's game with Daniel Boone becomes a huge game to determine if the Vikings win or lose the district. Other key games are Cherokee and Crockett. Crockett needs a win to avoid the opening round 6-7 game in the tournament. Elizabethton beat Science Hill in Carter County the first go round. D-B beat Elizabethton soundly in Kingsport this past Saturday, can the Cyclones return the favor in Carter County this Saturday in the regular season finale? I've updated the District 1 standings in the post above. In District 1, the top 2 seeds get a double bye in the tournament meaning they lock up automatic region bids, so D-B and Tennessee High are locked in at this point.
