Great idea; however, I don't see many DII wrestlers participating this tournament.  I think it is great idea; however, coming off the Prep Nationals, these DII wrestlers will be looking for a break or moving on to another sport.  DI and D1 A-AA may be moving on to something else as well.

Thoughts of having this during the season?  Most know who the top wrestlers are during the season.

Another thing that will hurt it is the TN AAU State Tournament the same weekend in Knoxville. I love the idea of this event, I just don't see it panning out like hoped. Either way I would love to watch some more great wrestling, but I'll be coaching the little guys in Knoxville. Hopefully it surprises us all and is a great event!

I fully agree!  What could be an idea is to have a dual with another state like Virginia, Maryland, Kansas, etc... the weekend before the NCAA D1 National Championships.  Most of those type events give the kids 5 pounds over the state tournament weight classification and begin with the 120lb weight classification.  120lb would be 122lb at the state tournament so the weight for the dual against another state would be 127lb with a early morning weigh-in and the match at 7:00pm.

Ladies and Gentlemen, currently we have a little over 50% committed to the Best of Best.. according to the rules  we cannot do a Dual, it must be a Tri or better to be in compliance.
So we are going to cancel and regroup and try to do preseason as a Jamboree and that way it won't take a date and everyone won't be as burned out or tired. If we did a Dual anyone that isn't a Senior would lose a year of eligibility and that's the last thing we want.
