Have y’all noticed that Maryville in their two biggest district games have gotten every whistle? It’s sad that their best player wins MVP when he is the 5th best player in the region.

Maryville has a really good team and Joe Anderson is a great player, he's a good leader, shoots the ball well, he's very unselfish and he doesn't force shots or turn the ball over.  You can't control the officiating and at some point every team has benefited from a call here or there in a game.

How about giving a team credit for being 20-1 instead of saying they are overrated? They have a PG who can shoot the lights out, multiple other excellent 3 point shooters, and are well coached. They may not be quite as physically talented as some other teams but beating teams that are more physically talented than you are is a good thing.

Maryville is having a great season.  I just don't know how you can say anyone that is 20-1 is overrated.

Mark is a good coach and Maryville is a very good team.As one guy always says "haters hate".

That’s fair. Completely agree the coach is great. But Maryville just isn’t near as good of team when they aren’t at home and the assistant AD doesn’t get to tell his son who they want to ref the games.

Sure Joe Anderson can be a great player and 4th-5th best player in the region. That’s not a knock on him.

Maryville doesn’t just benefit from calls here or there. They have had some of the most questionable calls go in their favor.

    • Agree. The man literally sacrificed time, moments, memories you can't get back with his own family for every single athlete at that school. (and many others) To those that continue to be negative about him and continue to bring him up; He's been loyal, hardworking and just his entire coaching career. Ask anyone that actually has a leg to stand on in regard to Coach.
    • Egotistical? That's a new one.  It's funny, I'm friends with two of the younger coaches that he "ran off" as you say. In fact, he helped them find jobs, encouraged them to do what was best for their growing families, provided advice, support and still does to this day.

    • Track has always been big at OR. Ran off about 7 straight titles in the 60s. Your hate for Gaddis runs deep, huh? What did he ever do to you, to make you disdain him that much? You can’t seem to stop talking about the guy. He’s living rent free in your head. Might wanna get that checked out, you don’t wanna go to the grave with that on your heart.
    • This late in the year, you’d have to think they’d go with an Asst. on staff, right? I’m pretty new to the area so still learning how folks do things around here…if Woods stays there to teach, it could be hard on a new guy/staff coming in…
