Jada Guinn has some really nice stats for her career at Oak Ridge and should be considered for Miss Basketball in 3AAA. Gracee Dishman has had a great career at Cumberland County and I seen her play as a freshman against 3AAA Riverdale in Sub State and as a Sophomore in sub state and scored over 30 both games and then has played really well in 2AA the last two years since they went to 2AA. I think she is a front runner in 2AA Miss Basketball. I also like Chole Moore from Greenfield in1A. I saw her and Dishman play against each other in AAU this summer and they both put on a show. It was a very good game. Whitson from Dobbs-Bennett in 3AAA has very good stats and has over 2000 points and 1000 rebounds and is a very good player and fun to watch. She has had a great career there. I really like Jayla Hemingway at Houston 3AAA and seen her play AAU and is fun to watch but I don't know her stats. Cassie Monday at Clarkrange in 1A is a great player to consider for a nomination. Riverdale in 3AAA has Aislynn Hayes and ive seen her play and is a very good player but I haven't seen her stats but I know she was nominated with Dishman, Whitson, Hemingway, Williams, Waggoner for McDonalds All-American. Don't Know anything about Williams from Arlington but have seen Waggoner play at Ensworth and she can play and deserves a chance.

Class A definitely Deserving in my opinion, no certain order:

Chloe Moore and Tess Darby (Greenfield), Aaliyah Brown (Pickett), Kenzie Arms and Taylor Strong (Clay Co)

How you get that list to 3, I am not sure haha.

Class AA: Keely Carter/Jalyn Gregory (Macon County), Gracee Dishman (Cumberland), Wykle from South Green. IMO Wykle is a tough kid to beat for this award. A 2 time state champion, 4.0 GPA, ultimate competitor, and amazing stats, as well as 2,000 career points while missing a complete season. IMO, shes a tough kid to beat. Dishman will end up with 3,000 in her career though, so although the team stats haven't been as good, 3,000 is amazing. Tough to ever get that.

In no particular order:

A - Chloe Moore, Tess Darby, Karly Weathers

Will probably come down to Moore and Darby, but their votes could split and Weathers win it as a Freshman.

AA - Keeley Carter, Gracee Dishman, Braelyn Wykle

Have watched all of these play and depends on everyone's definition of Miss Basketball;  could see any of them get it.

AAA - Jayla Hemmingway, Jada Guinn, Courtney Whitson

Again, have watched all three play and depends on voter's definition of Miss Basketball.

She's a great player, who is carrying that team. (Some young players are making strides, though). The competition is always tough for these awards. I hope she gets nominated, at the very least. That and win the AA Championship and I believe she will be happy. South Greene players put the team first. Always have.

I have watched Riverdale basketball all my life and they have been dominating and Hayes should be in Miss Basketball. And I have seen Dishman play at Riverdale twice in the sub-state against both Hayes girls her sophomore and freshman year and averaged around 30 and that's in 3AAA. So her team has done very well and Riverdale won the state and last year they lost to Macon in regionals and she had 34. Cumberland County has had a lot of success in 3AAA and 2AA. Wykle has had a great career but Dishman has played at a high level of competition so everyone needs to remember that. Riverdales Hayes deserves a chance because she has really played the best of the best and has led her team to a lot of wins against nationally ranked competition. I try to comment on players that I have seen play and these girls can play.

That AA district Cumberland County plays in is a real high level of competition.LOL.  Most of those games are over after the first quarter.

Cumberland county just kicked the stuffing out of white county at Sparta, and Dishman had 38, which is more than she’s scored in any district game, since she only gets to play less than half of each of those games

Cumberland county’s non-district schedule includes 10 games against ranked teams.  I challenge you to find a tougher non district schedule.  Dishman’s average is higher against the ranked teams than district opponents.  Do a little research or actually watch some games before you criticize a player or team, so you can avoid looking so ignorant.

The post referred to DISTRICT teams!  Another poster commented on how high the level of competition was for Cumberland.  Go do a little research on the combined records and strength of schedule of the DISTRICT teams that CC plays.   If you weren't such a CC homer you might realize that the level of DISTRICT competition is not on the same level as 8AA or your former 6AAA.  There is no way that your DISTRICT schedule is getting you ready for a possible game with Macon or Upperman in the region.  CC will not be able to speed up Macon or Upperman.

    • The winds of change are blowing in Hartsville.     Will be an interesting follow.    Would go back to the 90s and turn black the clock!
    • Did he promise you a coordinator job or something if he ever got a head coaching job? He resigned? He was at the top of the dugout last night calling plays. I wonder if those 30+ parents would let him give their kids a ride. by the way the board meeting was last night and it was not mentioned. must have been at the work session earlier this week which is not public. must be trying to keep it quiet.  Since you know so much, how much is Robbie Atwood willing to pay Adam Cothron?  Didn't you slander Eden earlier on here? You also didn't know he was a faculty coach again so how much do you really know? Some people outside this county baffle me with their need to slander others.
    • He resigned smh, and have you ever heard of charged but not convicted. Some people in this county baffle me with their need to slander others. Have you asked any of the 30+ parents that signed a petition to get him reinstated at the board meeting this week how they feel about this? Just let it play out, at the end of the day the only people that will bring TC back are the ones that know what its about at its core.    People hate losing and they aren't used to it at TC. I for 1, and I'm sure others too, understand having a dip in talent and not being able to compete for a state title every year. But in the past, TC teams have outworked more talented teams, they didn't continuously lose the turnover battle, they didn't commit 8+ penalties in several games each season, and I believe several of the folks in town that want Blake out feel as if he is neglecting the history of the program. This is from a source that used to be extremely close to the program (not me lol), Blake gets out of school midday and the players show up and there is no practice plan or itinerary.  I also understand those that are on team Blake, when he has loads of talent, he wins. He does know football and he is a tremendous DC, and if the rumors are true then he will do great things. As for the board member issue, it is what it is, everyone that's true to the county know that and nothing has changed. I agree though that they should strive to make the facilities as good as we can. And as far as potential candidates, I agree there is very few options. West, Vetetoe (yes I know), and couple others that could have some interest. Whatever happens is massive for the program during a pivotal time before the next big wave of stars make their way through.
