No,

You have not touched a nerve.

I'm confident in the direction of leadership of all sports programs in the school the day CPW was announced as Head Football Coach.    It sets the tone, and I'm fine with it.   If you don't stand for something like personal integrity, you will fall for anything.    Much like everyone trying to figure out usernames.

Most people wanted to see CPW coach on this side of town anyway, and we are thankful he wanted to be at DCA with all the folks that have supported his career.   Like him or not, his track record is winning and he is legend to a lot of people that grew up on this side of town and played for him.

Forward thinkers know the deal.

A DCA girls basketball thread getting 7,000 views is something epic, and something I never thought I would see personally.

Back to the search...........

Who do you see getting it? Who are even candidates? I think if it was someone internally they would have already hired them. If it’s not Coach Winfree it has to be someone from the outside. Who are potential coaches that would come here or have interest? Are they still interviewing candidates or are they done with that part of the process? Give us some hope. Please.

Speaking of this. We are the only private school in the area that is hiring a coach based on teaching positions we can fill. What about hiring the best coach for our kids? That seems the most logical thing to do. If we are only hiring a coach based on if they can teach math or not. We will never be on the same level as the schools in our league.

That has been a common theme for a long time.

The hiring of CPW was not due to the "confident in the direction of leadership" by the school or it's administrators. That hire came from outside pressure. The powers that be wanted to go in another direction. Which I am glad the school succumbed and pulled the trigger on hiring him. But that hire came at a "cost", and you are seeing that cost play put. I do agree though if the football program is fixed and relationships are repaired in the community, every sport at DCA will benefit. Especially financially when hiring situations arise in non-revenue sports.  CPW is just the individual to do that, but I am afraid he is fighting a losing battle with the AD and top administrators who still hold the purse strings. Every school goes through a changing of guard at some point, but unfortunately DCA's old guard is putting up a fight.

No one has heard this. There is no coach in place. My bet is they will just give it to Winfrees daughter, the MS coach, or the boys assistant.

One of them could be who my source was referencing. We will know in a few days.

Yeah those two didn’t interview. I suspect an announcement will be very very soon.

Sounds like Coach Holden is the hire. I don’t know a ton about him but I know he was our middle school girls assistant this year. I wonder how this will go over with players and parents?

Happy to know a coach is in place.

    • hey goat! how’s monterey looking this year?!
    • several people actually. they said “snoball, do you know who railbird81 is on coacht?” I said, “never heard of her.” they said, “you ought to check it out they’re getting fired up on there like the old days.” well, you can imagine my disappointment when I came here expecting sharp, witty banter and all i found was more akin to toddlers slap fighting. and what looks like 1 guy/gal talking to themselves with multiple accounts.
    • Shopping? His family is loaded and he's 6'6 I'm pretty sure he could start anywhere in upper East TN,So no need to shop. Word is Witten got caught trying to work him out on campus and some 7 on 7 while playing athletics for Sullivan East. Word got around pretty quick and Someone turned them into TSSAA.
    • Quick update on Jacob -  Jacob celebrated his 16th birthday at Vanderbilt on Tuesday and has been in decent spirits.  His sense of humor has begun to show as he was visited by many friends.  He is swallowing a lot better now and has eaten some of his favorites (Chik-Fil-A and Five Guys).   He is getting prepared to head to Atlanta to the Shepherd Center first thing tomorrow morning.  His family has been waiting on insurance approval. In case you dont know the Shepherd Center it a world class facility and supposedly one of the best in the country for spinal injury rehab.  Praying for perfect results there. Considering the circumstances, Jacob is in decent spirits.  He has some reflexive movement in his legs which I think is probably a very positive sign.  Don't read too much into that just yet as there is no telling what the real prognosis is... just hopeful that is good thing.  I am really just happy that it seems like he has a punchers chance of getting something back.  He is a strong young man and very determined so I think he will fight as hard as he can in physical therapy while down in Atlanta. More than one of you has asked me about an address to send donations.  I know GoFundMe isn't for everyone.  If you want to go that route, you can make a check to "Blackman Wrestling Club" and we will pass anything received directly to the Kinderdines.   Jacob Kinderdine c/o Blackman Wrestling 4836 Trevino Court Murfreesboro, TN  37128 Also, want to thank everyone who has donated so far.  Jacobs dad will take a month off work and stay in Atlanta with him.  They need to learn how to take care of him and do home therapy work..... and surely Jacob will be glad his dad can be there.  All that could not happen without you all.  Depending on what happens, they will probably end up doing some home remodeling in order to accommodate Jacob at their home.  Thanks again. Here's a pic I lifted from Facebook of Jacob on Oxy talking to his Uncle.  LOL
