Eagleville and Fayetteville from district 8A have a really good chance!

No one in Class A is coming to Clay County in a substate game and getting a “W”  not Manassas, not BTW, not Humboldt not CA, Eagleville or Fayetteville. Not happening fellas. Clay is loaded for the next 6 years. Freshman team went undefeated and won state as 8th graders, this years junior high won it again. Back to back! At least 3 of Clay’s freshman would start on any other team in region 4 and they can’t even see the floor due to how good this team is.

Very Easy to do that when you play the type team they play! LOL middle school Sectionals came through Memphis this year and all the county school got crushed! Talent level is much different!

You said this last year! LOL Two teams from 15A made it to state!

Yup last years Douglas team beat a Clay County team full of sophomores and juniors by 3 in the state tournament after Clay led the entire game. Same team coming back this year only much better!  So I’ll say it again Manassas or BTW would not and could not beat Clay County in a substate game if it was held in Celina Tn!  Now if it was held in Memphis then its a toss up. I’ll give you that much. Humboldt is too good to lose at home in a substate game this year. I might come and watch since Clay will win by 30 in their substate game should they survive a miracle upset in the region.

We all know Memphis is king in basketball no argument here. However it does make it easier when kids are allowed to change schools year in and year out without penalty. A very big unfair advantage but TSSAA can’t police Memphis on a regular basis. I guarantee you there are 19+ year olds playing their 9th and 10th semesters down there. Happens all the time.

    • I think the OC is a guy the he brought from Fulton with him. I am not sure though. I have heard a lot of conflicting information. It seems like a couple of coaches that he hired have since been let go.

    • If someone needed their grades pumped up surley it would have to be for someone needing it to get to another level. If your intending on going to work right after high school it wouldn't matter. Why would someone in their right mind think if they screwed it up in high school that their ready for college. It has to be for an athlete to get them over the fence to get in and from that point the school their going to will cheat them through the rest of the way for their athletic skills just like the rest.
    • The new school will be on that road behind Home Depot next to a church. I'm wondering if this could take from Greenback or could it be the end of Greenback, they only have 200 students.
    • Yeah it will take the county kids in that area that were going to lenior city. They will move down to 4a I think
