Oh boy. This likely finals match will be one of if not the most exciting match all weekend for me. Fowler vs Diehl. Both defending state champs. Both top p4p guys. Both elite talent in Tennessee. It would be a lot of fun. Dylan Quinn will try his best to spoil the party though. I really like Alex Mercado from Motown East and Cade Young from Houston. Mercado has flown under the radar, but had 2 very close matches with Diehl and I think he’s been very underrated. And young has been a solid guy throughout high school but has never been able to break through and hit the podium. I think he does this year. The toughest decision here was who wins it all. Fowler and Diehl could wrestle 10 times and I’d bet it’s close to 5-5.

Final Picks:

1. Landon Fowler (Blackman)

2. Chase Diehl (Science Hill)

3. Dylan Quinn (Mt. Juliet)

4. Gabe Smith (Clarksville)

5. Alex Mercado (Motown East)

6. Cade Young (Houston)

One match away:

Ashton Davis (Cleveland), Cade Meeks (East Hamilton)

I think that Johnson(Bradley) and Richards(Springfield) may make some noise and surprise some folks.

They don't make top 3,but 4-6 could be interesting.

Johnson and Richards are my dark horses to place

I like your two dark horse picks! Fowler beats Quinn( who gets revenge from last yrs loss in the semis to Diehl) in the finals. Diehl finishes 3rd this season. You heard it here first.;-)

I REALLY liked Richards too. I had him vs Davis in the round of 12. He is definitely one to watch. Just was a little too inconsistent over the year for me to take him over Davis but I wouldn’t be surprised at all of he’s on the podium come Saturday.

    • Yep..could possibly have 3 teams ranked in top ten in the same four team district.
    • He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons
    • A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance.  He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.
    • Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
