I dont know enough about BBall around the state to comment on the other schools but I feel like Crockett will win over Mitchell.

I also feel like there could be a big upset brewing. South Gibson will certainly have its work cut out for them but they stand a good shot at giving Wooddale a game or sneaking out a victory. They have proven several times this year that they can play with and/or beat some of the best teams in the state. Should be a great game.

I just hope that it is a clean game that is not so heavily influenced by the zebras.

I think Wooddale wins against South Gibson in pretty convincing fashion. Wooddale to me with their talent is one of if not the favorites to win the state title in Class AA. If South Gibson plays their absolute best game they might make it a close game but I just don't see them beating Wooddale.

I see you picked the "big city" school over the "county" schools.

Yes I did..didn't realize it until you mentioned it ! I also split the "home" teams vice the "visiting" teams(4 to 4). I haven't done a study but I believe the home team wins the majority of the time. We will see on Monday night and good luck to all involved!!

Region 7AA is tough but I don’t see either one of them winning.  Crockett might be close    SG game won’t be

I don't think Crockett scores over 32 against Mitchell.  Crockett's only hope is to try to get out in transition with Hannah and try to put pressure on Mitchell's bigs. Otherwise Mitchell is gonna clamp down on Shelton and make it very difficult for them to run any offense. South Gibson has a shot, a very small one. Try to sit in a zone and force Wooddale to slow the game down.

Tyner Ram Fan since you are in the same district who is tougher Brainerd or Howard. I figured Howard is a tougher team. Thanks

Austin-East- If they get off to a good start it will be 20+

Fulton- by 20+

Brainerd- by 15+

Howard- I think this game will be closer than most think. 10

Pearl-Cohn- by 20

East Nashville- by 6

    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
    • Word is Jason Maxwell will be new AD - he is currently head baseball coach. Also heard Roc might be headed to Pope as an assistant coach.
