Can we start actually put a preseason top 10 for 5A now? Would love to see what people think

It's too early to do that, IMO.  Need to wait until after the dead period to see who ends up transferring where.  With the movement top players are making in this day and time, it's hard to put together a realisic list until you know who has picked up/lost whom.

The silly off season is tough.  Everybody wants to talk, but there is just not much to talk about.

Spring football is basically useless in trying to tell who has what.  Too many kids are still in spring sports to get an accurate picture.

7 on 7 season gives folks an opportunity to talk about individual athletic talent, but little else.

It's not until the pads go on in late July and teams start actual full contact scrimmages that you can begin to get a realistic idea on who has a chance to be special.

Oh nice! Last time Coach Watson and Coach Counce met the teams didnt shake hands and the coaches had words with each other.

I have no idea what Watson was like before getting to Gallatin but we all have been impressed with him here.  He has built a really good staff and discipline and toughness have changed for the better in my opinion.  I like where things are headed.

    • Yea, they have Davey quaking in his boots. Someday they'll even have a winning season.
    • Guessing this may have been the closest I can think of...... Bill Harlow: (from wiki) After leaving OSU, Harlow went on to win three national titles in freestyle wrestling.  He won a silver medal at the 1970 World Wrestling Championships, falling to Soviet Gennady Strakhov in the finals at 90 kg.
    • The Simpson brothers had good freestyle careers.

    • Maybe some of the historians can get on here and help me out, but has anybody from Tennessee ever had as much success in an international style as Boykin? The only other Tennessee native I can remember competing for world team spots is the older Boykin in freestyle and he wasn't nearly as close as Nick has been to making world teams.
