If they're going to beat Macon, they better get to work on individual and team defense.... Macon shredded their defense all night. I watched the replay earlier this morning on Upper Cumberland Reporter. Macon jumped out an early lead, and it was over for Upperman. I'm not saying you won't beat them this year, but I doubt you will.

That was undoubtedly the worst game they have played all year a lot of credit goes to Coach White and his team. Let’s put the tape on after the game at Upperman and see if this was a fluke or Macon is just that much better.

A few years ago I watched Jackson County beat Clay County by 40 the first time they played and it wasn’t that close. When they played them for the 5th time in the state championship Clay beat Jackson by 20 and it was never a game. I think Coach White would be the first to tell you that while it was a good win in the grand scheme of things it means little more than bragging rights for the moment. There is no one that will challenge either team in the district or region so we will watch them play at least 3 more times. Maybe 4 more...

CC just isn't playing with any fire or intensity. No chemistry whatsoever. A few good individual players but just can't seem to put it together as a team

Too late in the season for this to be happening.  Something must be going on in the locker room or on the sidelines.   Too much talent there  and they are an experienced senior heavy team.   Get it together girls.  You are too good for those results.

Blow out week...

Macon wins by 25

York by 20

Cannon by 15

Dekalb by 25.

Well cannon got beat and Dekalb won in overtime over Smith and probably should have got beat to   Cannon must have trouble for sure because they have talent not sure about Dekalb either and Smith played York and Dekalb tough then got killed by Watertown.     None of this makes much sense

You skipped the first one....  lol.    But I agree it doesn't make sense.  Dekalb can blame it on injuries but they are up and down like crazy this year.   Cookeville blew them out by like 40 and then they come back and beat White County.   Just crazy stuff going on in 8AA.

Yes you was dead on the Macon game

I agree a lot of strange games going on as of early on in the district. Looking back over last several years CC really hasn’t done much then either. I agree something must be too.
Tonight’s predictions

Macon beats Smith by 30 plus.

Upperman beats Livingston by 15-20

Cannon should beat Watertown by 15-20

York beats Dekalb by 5-10

Good Luck to all.

LOL at the "should" .   I am not going to pick a CC score for a while.

I like the first two picks but I don't think the Dekalb score will be under 10.   York is playing well and is better at several positions than Dekalb right now.  Its at York so I would say it will be 15+.  Leffew vs Ferrell is a good matchup.  And the girl that has really surprised me this year from York is Sage Smith.  I would like to watch this game if we weren't in Warren tonight.

Strong 3rd qtr for UHS.

LA girls have improved since the last meeting. Much better D. They still struggle putting up points. If they can get some more consistent scoring ,I truly think they can catch someone napping come district tournament time. The freshman Melton is starting to make a presence. She is starting to get a little more aggressive which is needed. Colson has played much better the last 5 or so games. Webb has struggled some from the arc this year but has a motor. Still a fairly deep team despite a couple season-ending injuries.

Right now, in my opinion, Macon is top dog and it's not even close. Upperman a very distant second. I think York is closing the gap with Upperman in 3rd. After that, a toss-up between Cannon and LA, then DeKalb, then more than capable teams in Watertown and Smith.

What in the world happened with Dekalb tonight losing to Oneida?

    • As I said somewhere earlier in the thread, the original plans had no outdoor athletic facilities being part of the campus.  The original plan was for HVA to use facilities at nearby schools.  Very late in the process they came up with a plan and found budget to have minimal facilities and crammed them in to space that never was intended for athletic facilities.
    • Agreed, the way the field is turned you get the evening sun blasting right into the press box making filming a nightmare there, plus its so low.  The field is land locked and parking is a nightmare too. Seems like Knox County could have done a lot better there with the design and the quality.
    • I think this upcoming team may be pretty good, they will definately be better up front and if they can replace Dozier, Heyward and Rembert, they can be real good. They have the same strange schedule, but this time with 5 straight home games. The road games at Jeff County, Powell will be tough to open up with and the back side at Bearden is the tough game there.  One question I had if anyone knows: There has been some talk of an indoor practice facility in the past, with the new track area now more of a track area, that kind of leaves a need for a football practice area. Just sayin....
