DeKalb wins in a strange ending as York fouled with a lead and tried to get the last shot

FYI: Macon could lose tonight and playing Upperman in Putnam County is not going to be easy for anyone nod nod wink wink

DeKalb at Sequatchie

York at Cumberland

I agree. But, to me, beating Upperman is slightly smaller miracle than beating Macon. Especially in an elimination game. Both are long shots though, no doubt. And we definitely don’t need to be looking ahead and slip up in Dunlap. Our last trip down there didn’t go so well, and I felt like we were the better team then as well.

That's 6 straight wins over the bee's for Macon I would say that stings a little. It's not over by any stretch these two teams will play again soon and then im thinking one last time again.Macon will have a hard time beating them 2 more times but they are playing really good and have proved they can pull it off.

Actually it’s 5 straight. Upperman won the first meeting last year

The first quarter was basically the difference again. Macon jumps out to an 11 point lead after 1 and just kept it around 12-14 most of the game. Macon hit several 3’s in the first quarter which were basically the difference. I could see Upperman beating them if MC has a cold night shooting the ball. Upperman needs to feed the Johnson girl when she posts up. Why they don’t throw her the ball more is beyond me. She’s a tough matchup on the block.

On a separate note I’m not sure anyone from York was pulling for a win tonight.

I am wondering if York pulled a Riverdale/Smyrna last night fouling a good FT shooter with the lead.

Regional Matchups

Marion @ Macon    Macon by whatever they want it to be. I honestly think Macon sits some girls for most of the game

Bledsoe @ Upperman Upperman by 40+ Upperman runs it up

DeKalb @  Sequatchie DeKalb by 25+

York @ Cumberland York by 12+ this is the only matchup that will be close but York is better than Cumberland

It's good to see someone else noticing Abigail Johnson. Halfway through the season, we had the pleasure of watching Upperman here in Greeneville's Christmas tourney. I was surprised that Johnson was only a Freshman. She is not super tall, but takes up space and makes some nice moves. She has very good feet.

    • If someone needed their grades pumped up surley it would have to be for someone needing it to get to another level. If your intending on going to work right after high school it wouldn't matter. Why would someone in their right mind think if they screwed it up in high school that their ready for college. It has to be for an athlete to get them over the fence to get in and from that point the school their going to will cheat them through the rest of the way for their athletic skills just like the rest.
    • The new school will be on that road behind Home Depot next to a church. I'm wondering if this could take from Greenback or could it be the end of Greenback, they only have 200 students.
    • Yeah it will take the county kids in that area that were going to lenior city. They will move down to 4a I think
