TCA over MAHS 22-0 to advance to State.

The TCA game this afternoon only went 2.5 innings. TCA basically played their freshman team in this game.

There is no question that you have to consider TCA as one of the heavy favorites to win the class A State title. Solid bats throughout the lineup, good defense in the field, and a team that is pitching rich on the mound. No question TCA will be a hard out.

@tonybologna which team do you think has had the toughest schedule in Single A?

I will have to take a look @ the schedules. Do you mean of the teams still left in the postseason or just in general from Class A?

TCA had a 20 run 2nd inning. WOW! I knew MAHS would get beat pretty easily but didn't expect it to be that easy. I think the bottom of the 2nd inning lasted like 30-35 minutes. Geez!

By the way, there was actually 3 Regional Championship games played tonight. I got them all 3 right so I went 18-6 overall with my Regional Finals picks. Still in shock over the Farragut loss when I picked the game to be a run rule game for Farragut. LOL! Will post up my Sectional picks soon. Thanks guys for the discussion & great posts we're having from this thread.

I'll wait until after tomorrow's final Sectional game between Sequatchie County & Signal Mountain to post my record for the Sectional picks. I have missed quite a few I know that with 1 more left to go. I will also post comments about what I thought about these Sectional games as well.

@HingleMccringleberry

I have went through the Class A baseball teams that have been or are still in the postseason. I have came up with 10 teams that I've decided on having the toughest schedules for 2019. I have not yet placed them in order of the hardest down to the least hardest. I will list them here & post back later with them in order starting with the team I think has had the toughest schedule:

1. Eagleville
2. Gordonsville
3. Grace Christian- Franklin
4. Summertown
5. Columbia Academy
6. Loretto
7. East Robertson
8. Trinity Christian
9. Lake County
10. Greenback

Well, now that all of the Sectional games are completed I can post my record for my predictions. Not so good. I went 16-8 in total from all 3 classes (A-AAA). That's a 66.66 winning %. I went down in % from my Regional Finals picks (72.72%).

I guess that I could say that's expected because the games only get tougher to predict as we advance in the postseason. I will have ALL of the State Quarterfinal picks too submitted by Monday evening. The matchups are set in all 3 classes (A-AAA) plus the Semifinals for DII-A & DII-AA as well.

I will include the DII Semifinal picks as well this time. I think the most surprising teams to make the state tourney for baseball from each class are Grace-Franklin (Class A), Haywood (Class AA), & Arlington (Class AAA). Forrest from Class AA with their record could be considered a surprise but not because of their tradition.

Lake County from Class A is a little bit of a surprise to me also. The rest of the 19 teams from DI really aren't a surprise for me to see them make the state tourney. However, I thought a select few of them wouldn't make it because the road to make the state seemed too tough for them.

What’s your reasoning behind Lake County beating Greenback? Strength of schedule? Pitching?

    • The winds of change are blowing in Hartsville.     Will be an interesting follow.    Would go back to the 90s and turn black the clock!
    • Did he promise you a coordinator job or something if he ever got a head coaching job? He resigned? He was at the top of the dugout last night calling plays. I wonder if those 30+ parents would let him give their kids a ride. by the way the board meeting was last night and it was not mentioned. must have been at the work session earlier this week which is not public. must be trying to keep it quiet.  Since you know so much, how much is Robbie Atwood willing to pay Adam Cothron?  Didn't you slander Eden earlier on here? You also didn't know he was a faculty coach again so how much do you really know? Some people outside this county baffle me with their need to slander others.
    • He resigned smh, and have you ever heard of charged but not convicted. Some people in this county baffle me with their need to slander others. Have you asked any of the 30+ parents that signed a petition to get him reinstated at the board meeting this week how they feel about this? Just let it play out, at the end of the day the only people that will bring TC back are the ones that know what its about at its core.    People hate losing and they aren't used to it at TC. I for 1, and I'm sure others too, understand having a dip in talent and not being able to compete for a state title every year. But in the past, TC teams have outworked more talented teams, they didn't continuously lose the turnover battle, they didn't commit 8+ penalties in several games each season, and I believe several of the folks in town that want Blake out feel as if he is neglecting the history of the program. This is from a source that used to be extremely close to the program (not me lol), Blake gets out of school midday and the players show up and there is no practice plan or itinerary.  I also understand those that are on team Blake, when he has loads of talent, he wins. He does know football and he is a tremendous DC, and if the rumors are true then he will do great things. As for the board member issue, it is what it is, everyone that's true to the county know that and nothing has changed. I agree though that they should strive to make the facilities as good as we can. And as far as potential candidates, I agree there is very few options. West, Vetetoe (yes I know), and couple others that could have some interest. Whatever happens is massive for the program during a pivotal time before the next big wave of stars make their way through.
