Well, so far with my Regional Final picks I have went 16-6. There's still 2 more Regional Championships left to play tomorrow. I picked Bartlett & Collierville in these 2 Class AAA Championship Games. I'm stunned Farragut got beat by Hardin Valley to lose home field advantage for the Sectionals but this stuff can happen to any team.

There are no more mulligans left now in the Sectionals. They will gain a mulligan back though if they can beat Tenn. High in the Sectionals & advance to the state tourney where it's back to double elimination. I did not think Hardin Valley could beat Farragut a single game on their absolute best day/game.

Once ALL the Regional Championship games are done after tomorrow night's games I will replay back with my predictions for the Sectional games. These will be another one & DONE situation so teams better bring it or they're going be watching the games from home on TV or actually still going to watch the state tourney games in person as non-participants.

I don't really have a favorite team left in the race but I have to stay local & root for Tenn. High & Science Hill (Class AAA), Elizabethton & Greeneville (Class AA), & University High (Class A). I think Greeneville has the best chance of all of my favorites but I also think Tenn. High & Science Hill both could be sleepers. I just don't know which one though has the better chance. They are about as even of teams you will see play & they're from the same conference as well.

Yes, Meredith plays basketball for UH as well.

Degennaro does have more than a fastball. I know for a fact because I've seen him pitch twice this season & at least 3 times last season. He is mostly a fastball pitcher though. He depends on placement more than trying to throw it by guys. He does hit 87-88 MPH on the gun at times with that fastball. He also has a slider & a cutter. If he starts trying to throw the slider & it isn't doing what he wants it to do then he usually ditches that pitch for that game after 2-3 slider pitches. He throws the cutter usually only on 2 strike counts. I would say normally he throws 80% fastballs, 15% sliders, & 5% cutters.

The final score of this game against Greenback was about what I figured it would be. I said no team would score more than 3-4 runs. I thought the score would be like 2-0 or 4-2 Greenback. UH just doesn't have enough bats especially when it comes to facing ace pitchers. Then again we can say not many teams can hit ace pitchers at just about all classifications. I thought Rossview was a team that could hit ANY pitcher going into the postseason because their bats were on fire scoring like 8 straight double-digit games going into the Regionals. They were held to 3 runs by Hendersonville though.

I might have made a mistake on him pitching tonight. I believe they went with their #3 pitcher.

TCA 16 LC 6 (5)

TCA looks to be in gold mode...very good looking bunch! I’d like to say we had our chances but we didn’t! Two consecutive years TCA jumps on us early & doesn’t look back...probably sounds funny but at least we did attempt to battle back!

Good luck.Im surprised by that many runs difference.Looks like they may just be too much for LC

Reese did not pitch. Seth pitched 6 innings and Bryce 1. Still have T.C. and Reese with full pitch counts for Friday.

We were talking about University High's pitching & not Greenback's.

I'd say LOL! It must have been that Farragut didn't use any of their best pitchers & was satisfied in just making the Sectionals
to save their ace for that.

Not bad but I've done better. Could go up or down too with 2 more Regional Championships later today.
