9-3 season was the best i could find for Sequoyah in a long while.

2018 record = 5-5

2017.                5-6

2016.                2-8

2015.                5-6

2014.                3-7

2013.                9-3

2012.                6-5

2011.                6-6

2010.                4-7

2009.                0-10

2008.                4-6

2007.                2-8

2006.                2-8

2005.                1-9

2004.                3-7

2003.                6-5

2002.                1-9

2001.                2-9

This is not to name and shame but to shed light on a team who doesn't seem to randomly have the ups and downs of high school football. By design some years you should have great horses and some years lesser horses but never a consistent 15 years of less then average to downright horrid seasons with alot of your losses by example coming from schools 2 classifications below you. This is an 18 year span and two years had a winning record of 6-5 and a good record of 9-3 another year. And if it isn't the coaching which was determined here by some then it must be the administration that is in charge?

Coach Satterfield coached 6 years(2009-14)...And the 2013 season Coach Ryan was the OC, the best I remember was the only year he was there.

The first season at Sequoyah was in 1995 and Larry Bridges was head coach. In 1996 they were 1-9. In 1999 they were 11-2 under Meadows and went 1-9 under Steven Smith the following year. I have their schedules but not their records for 95,97 and 98 but wouldn't be to hard to find. Hard to believe Madisonville and Vonore have not existed since 1994.

Bridges was a nice fellow, not necessarily a good football coach though. I remember him well.

This is a compilation of Sequoyah high school football coach history.

Start_End_YearsCoach_Name Record

2008 2013 (6) Bill Satterfield 20-34-0

1998 1999 (2) Scott Meadows 17-7-0

2001 2004 (4) Don Kerley 12-30-0

1995 1997 (3) David Staff 7-23-0

2007 2007 (1) Ronnie Summey 2-8-0

2000 2000 (1) Steve Smith 1-9-0

Unfortunately, that's a lot of coaches for that span of years.

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
