He pitched the game to get to the state championship and ran out of pitches. I've heard the freshman pitcher that pitched will be almost as good as Ethan in a few years

I'd have put him out there in the deciding game no matter what. O2 tanks, upper downers, the whole 9. He was their only chance to win it all. A freshman in a deciding game. Not prudent.

You have to make the title game before you have a shot to win the title. Scotts Hill did the same in '16. We burned everything but about 25 pitches for our ace, and came out with a freshman who hadn't seen a lot of duty during the season on the mound. After six full innings and a "comfortable" lead, our ace shut the door. You never know how things will go, but hindsight is 20/20... I wouldn't change a thing.
