They just like to blow smoke. They got transfers too.

But lost an all state potential lineman to Dyer Co.WE picked up one from Covington and one from Dresden. The kid from Dresden ,his Dad is from LC.They just moved home. The 3rd kid isn't a transfer.Been at LC all along.Just didn't play last year.So picked up 2 transfres  and lost 1 to Dyer Co.But only 1 transfer really from outside the system.About 60 miles away from LC.Not just where they can gho to a school 5 miles away from another school in the same county basically.

I’m sure it’s a really fun day. Seniors football players from Maryville and Alcoa aren’t transferring for the top quality of academics that you can only provide at Greenback. They transfer because if you have a few college level players in 1a you have a very good shot at a gold ball. You need more than a few in 6a.

Those kids we're attracting from Maryville and Alcoa are football players that grow so much more here. Not only as football players but as students.

Maryville has a loaded team this year so that kinda blows that theory up.

I really hate that this thread of THE TOP TEN has turned into this, but this is the most (almost) football talk this early in the year ive ever read. The 1A/2A boards almost double the other two in posts and views.I would really like to read about the other teams and what they bring to the table. As far as we go our laundry is waggin in the wind nothing more to really discuss other than bash the Hail out of us!Greenback is my team and i will stand up for and behind them as long as i am able and as long as it is done the right way,i played with these coaches and i respect them and i know its all done right if its done at all. When these boys put on the Orange and Black they represent the team,Community and all us has beens and they have my full support!I am sure some feelings have been hurt but as Blackhelmet has said before it dont stop here life will hit you straight between the eyes so you better be ready to outwork the guy beside you.Cant wait for Fri nights at Cooper field aint nothing like it.

I agree, that horse has been beat to death.   I'd like to hear about teams I may of missed.   Now that Donovan's annual report is out, we have a better understanding of what teams have returning.   He says Freedom Prep has 19 starters back.  Obviously they lost the two big recruits to Memphis Central, but with that many kids back, I'd say they deserve Top Ten consideration.

I like information like this. I already know in my opinion who the top teams should be at this point. I'm much more interested in the sleeper teams who may take down some of the hopefuls.

Coalfield returns alot of players also.May just be better than some of the outsiders think.I myself think they will be pretty good.Unless they lose the McKinney kid then....

I can honestly say with what Lake Co and Huntingdon or as BPM prefers Huntingdung that both of these teams returns much and either one has a great chance to win gold. Other teams in west would be Mt Pleasant and Freedom Prep. Both teams have the athletes to keep a game close. Wayne will be unknown. New coach but very rich tradition. My bunch will be young but could make it interesting in a few games. On the east side I know SP returns quite a few and I would have to give them a slight edge over Greenback in the east. Greenback has the talent but will have to see how they come together as unit. This team lost a ton from last year but will still be solid and if they jell at right time could become the favorite. I wouldn’t overlook Coalfield either. Whitwell lost a ton also and with new coach I can see them making playoffs but don’t see the stars aligning again this year. My dark horse in east is Gordonsville. There has been no chatter about them but I saw them in spring. Good athletes and good size. They will be a handful as long as they stay healthy. Many good games early will settle everyone in. Should be another great year for 1A football. Still should come down to the big 4 though for the dance. Good luck to all and remember to always give a pat on the back for these players that give us old folk some Friday night fun

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..
    • I have a sophomore that can do 177 (preferred) or 192. Sent you an email.
    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
