Monday nights Stone vs Cookeville game was decided during a a 10-0 run with 2 min left in the first half.  I think it was 20-17 before Cookeville made substitutions and Stone went on their run.  It was never close after that.  Stone maintained a 12-15 point lead the entire second half.  The game ended 45-55 Stone only after a very bad technical foul call on Coach Buck late in the 4th.   Capps and Miller finished with 20+ each.  Cookeville really had no answer for either.  Stone dominated the boards and out rebounded Cookeville by double digits. The first team to do that all season.  The big number was offensive rebounds.  Cookeville averages close to 10 OREB per game and finished the game with 2.

Tuesday night game vs Warren ended with a 58-21 win for Cookeville.  Game was never close and bench played most of second half.

Next up is Rhea on Friday.  Cookeville is not playing or shooting well of late but I expect it to be a battle.  Rhea stole the last game they played in OT so hopefully the Lady Cavs will avenge that loss on Friday.

Cookeville defeats Rhea 55-45.  Lady Cavs lead wire to wire.  Very similar to first matchup except this time when Rhea made a late run to close the gap, the Lady Cavs answered.   Hampton scores 25 as usual but probably shot 25+ times.  Cameron with 4.   Lady Cavs played terrific D on the dribble drives and were able to stop Rhea guards without needing help which took away the open 3 looks.  Most of Rheas shots were contested all night.  Big win for the Cavs!  Really liked the defensive effort.  Too many missed layups on the offensive side but this team has a lot of grit and has been in every single game they played this year.  We get to see same matchup next week as Rhea will finish as the 2nd seed and Cookeville the 3rd seed and will play each other in first 6AAA tournament game.

Old eagle eye i wouldnt call dodgen one of the best coaches in the state. You are delusional.

He has won 20 plus games a season for over 12  straight years and been to multiple state tournaments, only a hand few of coaches in the state can say that!!! Sparta had a devastating injury this year or they would be a major contender!

Just because he had some success at cannon co doesnt mean he is gonna have success at AAA wc. What has he done at wc? Win a bunch of games against single A and double AA teams? He has wasted quite a bit of talent here and we have some of the best post players coming up and dont want him to waste that too! Bring haley back!

If Dodgen's best player hadn't got hurt, WC would probably be 22-5 or 23-4.  With only 2 District losses to Stone.  WC would have had a chance to win the District and Region tournaments in Sparta.  I'm sure Mitchell wouldn't be seen as such a great coach this year by WC fans if his best player was out for the entire season.  I'm not a WC fan, but I'm curious to know, what games could WC have won this year if Dodgen was a better coach?  (DeKalb Co.???)  Where does Dodgen rank among the All-time best coaches in WC history?  Is he not an upgrade from Haley?

    • Ever heard of fulton high school? Things change Im not saying your wrong or right. I just think that AC is worried Clinton might catch them if whatever they are doing continues. I know he is bringing kids in
    • Both places Woods has been at have gotten better pretty quickly after his arrival. If you can win consistently in Metro while having to fend off the vultures from picking your roster clean, your doing something right
    • They typically have a handful of black kids (nothing at all wrong with that, it’s great), but these past few years both sides of the ball have been primarily black kids. Again, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, in general, all I’m saying is that the past few seasons or so, the teams demographics just doesn’t match what it has been, historically speaking. And that didn’t start, until Keith got there. That’s all I’m saying. Rather odd how that just starts magically happening ever since he got there.
