Hope I'm wrong, but replacing a large part of your team against Alcoa in the first game of the season is a tough climb. I hope they can stay at the level they have been, they are one of the few games on Oakland's schedule that won't involve the mercy rule

I  think we have a chance to be really special this year. Going to Blackman that first game right out of the gate will tell us a lot.

I'll give you that one brother. LOL.  PC has won a gold ball before and PC will schedule anyone. I'll give you guys some grief, but you're not scared and you don't run away. I respect that.

But You'll still hear from me occasionally about all the talk about the 2017 PC team. Two of my Mid TN friends especially catch it often.

You said that on 3A top 10 poll and I didn't say a word. You are right we should've been in Cookeville that year. But comparing us to mt juliet, naw I couldn't let that ride...lol

7v7 Report from the evening: Powell, South Doyle, Austin East, Knox Catholic, Kings Academy, William Blount, Gibbs, and Hardin Valley all met at Powell High School for a 7v7 event. Gibbs finally has themselves a QB who can actually throw. Looks like they will be moving a little into shotgun this year and run some form of a spread. Looks promising with their athletes. Austin East has some very good athletes and a good QB. Hardin Valley looking good and could be a sleeper but QB needs to get better. Powell is looking good offensively. Playmakers are a lot of freshman so who knows what Friday nights will bring. Cornerbacks are looking very small as well. They struggled more than I would have thought against some teams. Catholic did not look like their dominant selves. Of course, once they get their line they will be fine but QB play was just bad. South Doyle was the only team who went 4-0 on the night beating Catholic, Austin East, WB, and Kings. I think they scored on every possession. Powell vs South Doyle tomorrow night should be a very good matchup to watch.

    • Not sure how I would put it as recruiting perhaps kids trying to better their career by going to a head coach and coaching staff with connections all over college football that gets them the opportunity to go play college football and be coached by a coach with a pretty good track record.
    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
