Who are some of the stronger teams in Division II AA? I'm sure Brentwood Academy is one of the perennial favorites but can anyone share more info about the other teams?

Everything back from last year when they won state....Brentwood  decent but they won't beat Briarcrest probably unless they got someone coming in that I don't know about.

I’m hoping Knoxville Catholic will be competitive. They were 25-7 last year with three of their losses to AAA state champion Bearden. The Irish have 4 starters returning including their two leading scorers. They have three players with major D1 offers. They only have one senior on their roster. Schedule is extremely tough with a lot of travel out state, but it needs to be to prepare them for DII.  They are still young as Coach Hutchens will start three sophomores and the 6th and 7th man will be freshman.

But how does the playoff format works for DII AA? How many teams make it to state?  Since there is only 14 teams in the entire class (which seems strange) how do teams advance in the playoffs? Is there a regional or sectional games or is Briarcrest automatically anointed state champs by default?
