Riverside and Scott’s Hill will duke it out for the #2 seed from this region.

Nice to get some props, but we're probably a year away from seriously being a threat. Houston County will be pretty good, Riverside is always tough, and the Hickman teams should both be better. I left out Waverly, because I feel that it's their region to lose sight unseen... they graduated some serious talent, but they were deep, physical, and fast all over the place, as well as having a proven "replacement" for McConnell.

We definitely are on the right path, but anyone with a wrench can take apart an engine in a hurry... it takes a good mechanic some time to build it back where it will preform like it should. One promise... they will be in shape, they will play hard, and they will believe that they are going to win when they take the field in their first game... if that continues all season, I'll count it as a success no matter their record.

Yes either way our season goes I will be happy also. I think we made a great hire. I heard our new QB has improved tremendously but I haven’t got to see the kid play yet. That’s just the word on the street. I’m ready for the season to start. Good luck to y’all this yr Trader.

Good luck to y'all too, so far Wavo is the "monkey" that we haven't been able to buck off our backs... I want us to earn it from a traditionally strong Tiger team when (and if ?) it finally happens.

Every dog has its day. That cold windy night night in November 2016 was probably the best game I ever been apart of. Those young men laid it all out there that night didn’t they? Man what a game!

Games like that are once in a generation... I seriously wouldn't have been one bit more proud of our guys had they won that night, and your Tigers turned me into a fan of the program... if they hadn't been made of iron, we'd have pulled off a second "miracle" that season.

Was that the yr y’all made a big comeback against Riverside or are you talking about y’all beating Adamsville?

Knocked the #1 ranked and undefeated Cardinals off at their house in a nail biter... we were behind by five, got the ball deep in our territory, and drove the field to score with hardly any time left... had it in the same situation twice at your place, and y'all held... nobody on either side believed that their team wouldn't get it done until the clock read 0:00.

Edit... I was sitting with your fans... couldn't have been a better atmosphere!!!

Yes y’all had me scared for sure. I remember it like it was yesterday. Our defense is what made us so good that yr best Defense I have ever seen in my opinion. We played as a TEAM and y’all did too. I hope that's what gets us far this yr.

    • As I said somewhere earlier in the thread, the original plans had no outdoor athletic facilities being part of the campus.  The original plan was for HVA to use facilities at nearby schools.  Very late in the process they came up with a plan and found budget to have minimal facilities and crammed them in to space that never was intended for athletic facilities.
    • Agreed, the way the field is turned you get the evening sun blasting right into the press box making filming a nightmare there, plus its so low.  The field is land locked and parking is a nightmare too. Seems like Knox County could have done a lot better there with the design and the quality.
    • I think this upcoming team may be pretty good, they will definately be better up front and if they can replace Dozier, Heyward and Rembert, they can be real good. They have the same strange schedule, but this time with 5 straight home games. The road games at Jeff County, Powell will be tough to open up with and the back side at Bearden is the tough game there.  One question I had if anyone knows: There has been some talk of an indoor practice facility in the past, with the new track area now more of a track area, that kind of leaves a need for a football practice area. Just sayin....
    • I find it hard to believe that 70% of a schools enrollment is zoned for another school district
    • I was told that the indoor facility is happening regardless of the vote on the taxes but it would be a much bigger project with more funds if they vote goes through
