Not trying to throw cold water at all, but CPA this year is not close to CPA last year.  They had 30+ seniors and some D-1 guys that graduated.  Glad to hear Gallatin is looking good.

Which is precisely what I eluded to.  CPA should be a good team but not near like they were last year.  Still an upgrade from Rockvale last week.  I am more interested in the Shelbyville and Oakland scrimmages.  Those will be more true to form.  But....I am very pleased with what I have seen so far.  Giving up only a handful of first downs in two scrimmages is impressive.  They can get a lot better though.

Love hearing more about the wave. I’ll be in gallatin week 1 this year hoping to see a good game. And from the sounds of things in the gallatin scrimmages it will be closer than a lot of people initially thought!! Should be a good measuring stick for both teams early on. I need to get to a gallatin scrimmage in person to be able to give a solid prediction. But I plan on getting up there soon. Go wave

Just out of pure curiosity; what was the thoughts coming out of Lebanon going into this game? Did they feel it was a game they would be a heavy favorite?

Talked to a Smyrna supporter this morning and he was real pleased with the scrimmage.  He thought Lebanon looked tough and his Bulldogs played well.  He was worried coming out of spring but says things have gotten much better for Smyrna this fall.

Not real sure about the Lebanon viewpoint. I think a lot of TN HS football analysts would have thought Lebanon had a decent edge on the wave. I think it will end up being close, especially if the wave defense performs like I’ve heard they have been in scrimmages. I still give Lebanon the slim advantage but I will have to get up to gallatin and watch them scrimmage in person before I make a real prediction. I think Lebanon is optimistic because if you compare the performances of each team last season based on shared opponents, then the game doesn’t seem like it would be close. 22-19 loss to station camp for the wave vs a 42-0 win over station camp for Lebanon, etc etc. but that’s really comparing apples to oranges so we know how that goes. Also doesn’t take into account the offseasons the teams have had. I think gallatin is improved quite a bit. I expect them to smack station camp this year. I also think Lebanon is better than last year, which could mean they are really good this year since they were 8-2 a year ago. I follow most of middle Tn heavily and think that both of you will have a good season no matter who gets the victory

Agreed. Smyrna will have a good season. Incredible size and some good skill players especially at RB. Those were two good teams going at it yesterday! That’s why I want to get to a gallatin scrimmage soon and gauge them before I make any predictions for week 1. I’m just hoping for close games. I have no dog in the hunt

Lebanon and Gallatin scrimmaged last year in the fall.  14-7 Lebanon with 1st teasers if I remember correctly.  They scored on 2 long passes.  So last year was closer than most think it could have been.

I think it will be a good game. Either way, the team that comes up short week one should not let it hurt their confidence. Both teams are poised for good years. I think both finish top 2-3 in the region. If beech is going into the season expecting an “easy” region title then the wave will have something to say about it!!

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..

    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
