I will agree with you. They are going to be very good going forward. They have too much talent not to be good.

Willis is the most talented player on their team and it's hard to get the ball to him when the D is in the backfield all night.     Next week should be an interesting game

Congratulations to well deserving Loudon redskin team! They came to Cooper Field tonight and beat our butts!!!!!!!!!Hands down the better team won. They wanted it and they deserved it. Now i agree that we did get some crappy calls from the refs but that is not what lost the game for Greenback. What lost the game for Greenback was they were out preformed in every aspect of the game. They were more prepared in better shape, and played with more HEART !!!!!!!!!!!!  Our team needs to get over this BS about them being netter than previous teams, cause hint hint you  are not, and play football. I hope that they can come back and start getting some linemen to step up and play . Our qb cant throw the ball laying under the other team or running for his life. ok sorry over this week and on to next week.

Let me ask you a question. Me and that Tower man saw that Jefferies boy and Bailey boy with their hands on their knees several times.  I garuntee that Carnes boy is going to be real mad if he left Maryville and helmet boy and muskox man didnt orchestrate good hole nockers for him.  You think im joking but im not.

Roy  I believe myself and Onb have said several times on here he is not a d1 prospect. They are looking at him solely on his size. The line is terrible on both sides of the ball. I honestly think they will be lucky to 5-5 this year.

Greenback can’t block for the run or the pass. Defense is woeful!  They can beat the teams in their district because those teams are very bad. Maybe should have gotten some linemen to transfer too.

Real head scratcher considering we returned all but one lineman from last year’s offensive front. I knew how much we were going to miss #55 Plemons but come on... I think a few needed what happened tonight to be honest. Defense has way way too many people playing in wrong positions. It is obvious. I’m sure we’ll fix that. If we don’t we are going to have a long season.

    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
