Roy  I believe myself and Onb have said several times on here he is not a d1 prospect. They are looking at him solely on his size. The line is terrible on both sides of the ball. I honestly think they will be lucky to 5-5 this year.

We’ll help ourselves out a lot if we switch some personnel around. We should have had a few pics tonight! We are handcuffing ourselves.

GFD is right we just got out played by a better more prepared bunch.I left at the delay had to get uo early for vacation trip and it was evident in the first quarter.Willis has to get the ball Jackson was on him but numerous times in first quarter Willis had PLENTY of seperation but its hard to pass when you dont do a good job blocking.Alot of folks had us pegged as some great team and we told you we havent even lined up yet. WELL we have now and man is there plenty of work to do.We will get alot of it worked out if the kids are mentally tough enough to overcome a embarrassing home loss.Loudon is a VERY  much improved team this year and took it to us.Good luck to Loudon BEAT the Panthers next week.We have our own Tigers to deal with.

That was embarrassing last night. I had a feeling loudon was gonna beat us but I never thought it would get that ugly. We got zero pressure on the qb and he just did what he wanted. I sure hope we get it fixed this week or the meigs qb will have a big night

Wait one more week on dialing that in.

Defense has way way too many people playing in wrong positions. It is obvious. I’m sure we’ll fix that. If we don’t we are going to have a long season.

Come on don’t be one of those people. How do you know they are playing in the wrong positions? LMBO.. Your coach has the best winning percentage in the STATE. Cut them some slack.

    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
    • Word is Jason Maxwell will be new AD - he is currently head baseball coach. Also heard Roc might be headed to Pope as an assistant coach.
