Since there were no TSWA selections this year for whatever reason, here are my picks-starting with Class AAA. No doubt, some deserving players were left out. I tried to balance individual success with team success, and overall competition level. College signing/commitment level wasn't much of a factor.

Stats are from numerous sources. Some may be incomplete and some may be just for regular season. If I couldn't find numbers for players I didn't consider them. I did search, a lot.

Not making it isn't going to prevent Little Sally or Little Suzie from signing a scholarship, it's just for fun.

Class AAA:

P-Sophie Golliver, Siegel, JR. UAB commitment was 34-6 with 1.20 ERA, 250 K. batted ,347 with 14 2B for Class AAA state runner-up.

Would add P/DP Emalee McCord from Hardin Valley - very good power hitter and their ace past three years.  Also, two for consideration from Heritage High School: Jazmine Geary - District 4AAA POY (hit .540 w/8 HR and slugging 1.060) and IF Courtney Deck - UT-Martin signee (hit .421 with on base of .485 and 15/15 SB)

Stats are from 2019 All-5 Star Preps Softball First Team

Cayden Baker, Powell: The smooth-fielding sophomore shortstop compiled a .434 batting average, scored 60 runs and ripped five triples for the Lady Panthers.

Avery Flatford, Farragut: Lady Admirals freshman was almost un-hittable as she finished with a 0.83 ERA and 158 Ks in just 67.7 innings of work. Flatford was 10-2 with two saves.

Jazmine Geary, Heritage: The District 4-AAA MVP batted .540 and knocked in 41 runs for the Lady Mountaineers. A Maryville College signee, Geary stroked 16 doubles, six triples and eight home runs.

Emilee Fowler, Anderson County: Hard-hitting third baseman batted .455 and had an impressive .821 slugging percentage for the Lady Mavericks. Fowler, who will play for Maryville College, had 10 home runs and 45 RBIs this season.

Very impressive list. You definitely did your homework. For your consideration, Cheyanne Sales, Sr. Catcher for Ooltewah. Kennesaw State signee. Arguably the best power hitter in the Chattanooga area and easily the most impactful player on Ooltewah's roster this past season. Had a somewhat slow start to the season in terms of homers, but hit several down the stretch and in the playoffs.

Email sent to TSWA:

Message: Is there a particular reason as to why TSWA has not announced a 2019 All-State Softball team or Baseball team?

Response: Because it wasn't completed by the previous president. We have undergone a change in leadership in the last month and are currently working on this right now.

    • When Danny was a senior he was the quarterback on the 82 team and also the placeholder on extra points. At the end of the game Heritage scored a touchdown with very little time left and went ahead 9-0. On the following extra point Danny rose up and threw a perfect pass to one of his receivers which made it 11-0 and Heritage's first win against Maryville since the series started in 77. Maryville fans were highly ticked off because they felt like it was rubbing salt in the wound. The following year when both teams met again at Maryville  the Rebels ran away with the game and after the first couple of touchdowns they went for two points after each score for a pay back and the score was 45-0 at halftime. The following Monday Bob Gilbert the sports eiditor for the local paper bashed Maryville in an article called the Humilation of Teenagers and tore into Maryville even though he was a graduate of the school. Those were the good ole days when Heritage had decent teams and the rivalry between them and Maryville was a fun event to see.
    • I get all that.  And I agree too.  However, if the coach is only there to coach that would give them more time to do those things. The school system and booster clubs combine and pay them.
    • 3 sides to every story….Someone getting kicked off for saying the F word then it seems maybe your star player? Probably was the last straw.
    • who cares good luck to the kid. Hopefully he finds peace at MV.
    • Those are the three I was referring to popcorn
