First of all Huntingdon has a dang good football team. I thought Waverly fought hard but Huntingdon's speed was just to much for the Tigers. Mustangs rush defense just completely shut down Waverly. Thought the Tigers should have thrown more, but their QB might have got killed if yall had. Stripes were awful. Let the kids play. Stripes upset the flow of the game all night. When we cross the river we know we're gonna get screwed.

Same Huntingdon offense since Swenson has been coach and I've never seen so many chop block/illegal lineman downfield calls as I saw tonight. Waverly was completely outmatched so the Zebras decided to step in and punish Huntingdon for beating Waverly. Several boys lost their composure because of the penalties and got 3 or 4 unsportsmanlike penalties at the end of the game. Cant say I blame them but it needs to be cleaned up

I’m not giving up. Never will but I do know the game just a bit and when you see players walking around with their hands on their hips, missing blocks right in front of them, not cutting the ball up up  through a hole you can drive two Mack trucks through, the same look basically on the O side of the ball, busted coverage in the secondary, the list goes on! Waverly was not ready to play last night nowhere near ready. I don’t expect them to be ready Friday either. Huntingdon will mud stop us!

Same thing happened in our game with the flags. More the illegal lineman downfield calls than the chop blocks. but we had one of those too. I wonder if the illegal lineman downfield is a point they are focused on this year?

Am I aloud to say that without getting banned?

You could have spelled it right.

I tagged a few different people because this is a older thread but wanted a answer on this. Does Waverly always charge $7 at the gate? Or just when Huntingdon comes to town? Shouldn’t all school have to charge the same amount across the board?

    • From my understanding, Jay Graham pretty much took over HC responsibilities in that game, so you can thank him. Cute Andy didn’t need help, though. Cute Andy could’ve beaten us without any assistant coaches.
    • Tax payer dollars are paid for certified teachers to "teach" and then coach. The primary job is to teach.  There are some district that ay awesome supplements and others that don't. Dyersburg and Dyer County are pretty close if I remember correctly. I would imagine that Football and basketball are above $10,000 now.  I've heard that Milan is $20,000 for boys basketball. I would imagine that football is more than that in Milan.  Collierville has camps that coaches get paid extra for. 3 camps a year, 100 kids a camp, $30,000 right there.  There are places like Memphis-Shelby County schools where the supplements are garbage even for the head coaches. I made less than $3,000 as the head assistant at Germantown in 2015 when we were 26-4 and one of the best teams in the Southeast. As a head middle school coach next year I will make between $4-5,000 at a municipal in Shelby County.  Coaches should be compensated for the jobs that are required but lets keep in mind that they are educators first.  It's pretty frustrating to other teachers that work their tale off teaching 6-7 classes a day to watch someone roam campus, not teach (or have very minimal responsibilities), and get paid the same (more with supplements) as a person who has the some years of experience or sometimes less.
    • This will get coaches leaving the profession very quickly if this kid wins this case. This is absurd...
    • yeah money aint right there anymore
