Is the MVP award for the Championship match only or the overall tournament?

Nolensville was a more complete team and received numerous contributions in the final match.

I watched with two knowledgeable volleyball folks who thought Nolensville's two setters, two outsides and the libero played well.

The match tilted to Nolensville's favor when the Portland middle (Pippen) left midway in the match due to injury.  Her inability to return left them w/o a reliable scorer and their team pace of play slowed way down. Portland's back row struggled with ball control throughout the match.

We'll never know what may have happened had Pippen been able to play the whole match and Portland won.  To me, she was the best player on the court for either team and most valuable to her team.

Setters and hitters own an advantage for individual honors such as this. If there were an all-tournament team, I feel the NHS Libero would have earned that recognition.

Pippen never left with injury. She was subbed out for a back row player and Portland could never get back around to her being front row.

There were multiple hits that Portland had that would have been kills Against any other player but the libero got them up. She saved them and was the true MVP. If the coach gets to choose, it’s shameful that he’d do that with the effort she gave and the championship she gave her team.

Agreed about pippen being the MVP she had to have been in the low to mid 20’s in kills.
