He will jump ship if and when new school is built in Sullivan County.

Only if he wants to take a huge pay cut and start over with a whole new staff of assistants, which I don't see him doing.

When Science Hill hired Carter, they gave him a sweetheart deal where he got a lot more money than he was making in Sullivan County, tons of money for the team, brand new facilities, and the ability to get just about any ssistant coaches he wanted (like the Nelson brothers) and pay them more to be his assistants than head coaches get paid in Sullivan County.

Sullivan County will have new facilities going for it, but that's it.  That system is lousy about supporting athletics these days and the pay is only about 75% of what Johnson City pays.  They probably will hire someone promising from outside the system, but it won't be Stacy Carter.

You're suggesting that a Sullivan County school wants him back.  You're also suggesting that he wants to go to a program that will have far, far less money, resources, and heck even facilities vs. where he is at right now.  West Ridge can only hope and pray  they sneak in 5A, if they are a 6A team it is going to be a very very tough place to coach.  Numbers right now point at them being 6A in two years.

New facilities?  If you are talking about new stands, sure, but as far as it is right now, Sullivan County schools will not be getting a state of the art field house or turf fields.  Heck, with the way money is right now, it's first couple of years may see that high school playing at South/Central for football.

    • Yep..could possibly have 3 teams ranked in top ten in the same four team district.
    • He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons
    • A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance.  He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.
    • Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
