We also have 4 wrestlers on the 2022 big board.

28th James Howard  (Mccallie)

70th David Harper  (Baylor)

90th Garrison Dendy   (Baylor)

94th Porter Faulk    (Baylor)

I believe David Harper and Garrison Dendy would be much higher had they competed in Freshman nationals last year. Also I do not believe Hunter Mason could make 113. I would expect to see him at 126 or maybe 120 this year. It would be interesting to the see him and Trey Bates compete in division 1 this year, if they were at the same weight.

It appears as if the USA Cadet/Junior Nationals in Fargo and the 2019 Cadets in Akron, Ohio carried more weight than any of the other out of season tournaments when ranking the wrestlers.

Maybe because UWW Cadet world team trials is the toughest off season tournament and Fargo is the second toughest is why.  Nothing compares to those tourneys.

My guess is that both Hunter Mason and Trey Bates will compete at 120 this year but Bates is in big school division while Hunter is in small school division so they won’t wrestle at state.

Is bates the kid that was at Beech, then went to Baylor?  If so, where is he now?

Did not know that!  any other notable moves across the state?  Besides 8th grades going into high school, I don't follow the middle schoolers, so all those kids would be new to me anyways.

There are a lot of good Freshmen coming through this year. I wouldn't surprise me to see a bunch of these kids qualify for their classification's state tournament in 2020.

Flo released their MS big board today. A few TN kids where on the list.

72 - Sam Herring

73 - Cooper Hilton.

Also, on the list was Kage Williams. He has lived in TN and wrestled for Team TN a lot over the years. Rumors are he might be back in TN for HS.

25 - Kage Williams

We shall see, Kage was with me at Maryville for a few years before they had to move back to NC. Of course he'll still find some practice dates here and other places in TN, but he was a big loss for us and definitely a special talent.

The only other Tennessee native I can remember competing for world team spots is the older Boykin in freestyle and he wasn't nearly as close as Nick has been to making world teams.
