Knoxville Catholic VS McCallie

Catholic getting ready to go 0-2 vs big time private football teams. Looks like some bad blood brewing between coach/parents. But hey maybe they were talking about the Vols? What ever. Some things never change. McCallie is big time. Catholic better start recruiting for next year. Dll is best division in the state. 6A public not even close.

Yeah - i have heard. I would ban him from the games.

its rare a man who played on that level himself has no emotional or situational intelligence. Many of my friends who played Pro ball sit in the stands and say very little.

Embarrassing.  Next thing you know he will come out with his own shoes and clothing line —Big Baller Brand

Bad week all around for Knox Catholic. Doesn’t get any easier with McCallie.

Mr. Mays made a fool out of himself during a Catholic vs Oak Ridge playoff game and Catholic won the game. The older Mays brother, now at GA, was well known for the number of unsportsmanlike penalties he collected in his high school career. The current Mays brother is not like his brother or Dad ( so I have been told).

I have never ever talked about parents / players like this before and hope I never do again. On the other hand, I have never seen a situation like this. I haven't mentioned the coach because I have never seen or heard of him being anything but a good coach.

Don't worry, Catholic will recruit with the best of them.

I bet Maryville would beat most of the public schools year after year. Alcoa would also, too.

Yes Maryville and and Alcoa beat most of the public teams that they play. They both have done that for years. That's why the both combine for the most state championships ever in the history of the state playoff system. I don't know what else to say but they don't play any DII teams.

thinkin Catholic North travels south thru the tunnels to get another nice warm welcome to the D2-AAA blueblood private sector football.....the bishop put sum 100mph tape over that mays fellers mouth and handcuffs him to the railin so he cant go ruffin up the the bishops coach at half time...but keepin that Mays feller at bay want b enuff to keep what Chattanoogas self proclaimed ex-podcastin football guru....thinks is TNs ideal model of TN D2-AAA powerhouse football from barely squeekin by Catholic North

thats a Booger Pickin nose-picking-smiley-emoticon.gif

    • Why would the tax payers be responsible for paying for only a coach? In recent years with all the theft from various programs in schools from different programs with booster clubs (not just sports) the State of TN has made alot of rules surrounding booster clubs and how they handle money.  I have two documents to review, 1 is 40 pages from the state comptroller and the other is 37 pages from my district, so I can consider starting a booster club for my middle school program. It has been too much trouble in the past for the other coaches.  There is no way there needs to be an adult in the school building for 7 hours a day with no responsibilities except coaching.
    • The only thing that was said at half time of the 45-0 game was Coach Story, he said: "I know y'all have been out there a lot, but kick-off team, y'all need to get down there faster!" Then he and the other coaches proceeded to go into the coaches office and we all went nuts!  It was the only time I can ever remember coaches not saying anything at half time. Definitely a great memory!!!
