Westmoreland takes on Trousdale County on the Creekbank

We have what appears to be a good region game shaping up on the Creekbank.

Trousdale County comes in at 2-1 on the back on a stout defense. They have beat Friendship Christian (14-0) and Gordonsville (49-0) and lost to Watertown (13-16). The defense has been solid but the offense is still trying to find its way.

Westmoreland comes in at 3-1 with wins over Whites Creek (51-6), Macon County (21-11) and Jackson County (35-7) with a loss to Livingston Academy (35-2).

I know this series goes further back but the site is showing that these teams have played 6 times since 2001. Trousdale County has won all 6 meetings by a combined score of 185-25.

This game is essentially for the #2 seed and a home playoff game. So something extra to play for on the line.

I think that TC is the better team and should win but.... They are having issues on offense. Westmoreland is an organized and tough football team if they take care of the football and can get some scores this could be interesting.

Trousdale County 21

Westmoreland 7

How many starters did TC lose to graduation last season? I was shocked to see them lose to Watertown. Watertown lost alot of seniors if im correct. TC should win the state this year so if westy even scores friday it will be bad looking on TC

Watertown did lose a lot of seniors, but they also had a lot of sophomores and juniors returning who either started or was in rotation last year.

We came out the gate sluggish on offense just like TC, but they are starting to gain momentum.

Moral of the story: TC did not lose to a bad team and they are still as good as ever. ( especially on D) If they get the offense going they will be hard for anyone to handle!

TC problem on offense is that we still putting the ball on the ground had 3 bubbles again last night but recovered all of them. The defense will be better than last year defense by the end of the year. The offense is starting to click actually scored after halftime for the first time this season that was big. Still, haven't gotten the ball to #7 this year he is our biggest playmaker at Wideout/ TE. Once he gets involved in the offense which I think he will this upcoming game in the run game and passing game then the offense will turn into a juggernaut that it's capable of being.

TC speed and defense will be too much for Westmoreland. But westy defense is always good and step up against TC. The only reason I gave Westmoreland is that I respect their program and the coaching ties to TC that they have on their own coaching staff. TC 42 Westmoreland 7 with TC pulling away in the third quarter.

Looks like a lotta respect with that score.

Really man.  TC got to get by Meigs and Peabody to win the state.  Although there may be other teams lurking around the corner.  I believe Meigs, Tyner, Fairley, Mitchell, Peabody are the best 2a teams in the state.  And yes I believe TC is also

Let's not forget about Waverly.  I know there are teams I did not mention but teams I mentioned are teams that were in the mix the previous years

Trousdale should cruise to the state with all their starters back from last season. There are no weaknesses on this team.

Is Watertown still in 2A?

    • As I said somewhere earlier in the thread, the original plans had no outdoor athletic facilities being part of the campus.  The original plan was for HVA to use facilities at nearby schools.  Very late in the process they came up with a plan and found budget to have minimal facilities and crammed them in to space that never was intended for athletic facilities.
    • Agreed, the way the field is turned you get the evening sun blasting right into the press box making filming a nightmare there, plus its so low.  The field is land locked and parking is a nightmare too. Seems like Knox County could have done a lot better there with the design and the quality.
    • I think this upcoming team may be pretty good, they will definately be better up front and if they can replace Dozier, Heyward and Rembert, they can be real good. They have the same strange schedule, but this time with 5 straight home games. The road games at Jeff County, Powell will be tough to open up with and the back side at Bearden is the tough game there.  One question I had if anyone knows: There has been some talk of an indoor practice facility in the past, with the new track area now more of a track area, that kind of leaves a need for a football practice area. Just sayin....
    • I find it hard to believe that 70% of a schools enrollment is zoned for another school district
    • I was told that the indoor facility is happening regardless of the vote on the taxes but it would be a much bigger project with more funds if they vote goes through
