I felt like Gibson Co was gonna win this game! They were more physical when I saw both teams earlier! I like the wagons if they keep the O going! I’m kinda scratching my head as to why everyone is so down on this group? I honestly think GC has good things going! And hey I’m just an outsider

I told you earlier in the week that our offense was fine... I don’t look so dumb after all...

UC had 500 yards of offense with 25 first downs and Gibson had 350 yards of offense with 13 first downs. UC beat themselves tonight with the fumbles. Gibson County is a good football team but we handed this one to them on a platter.

I asked earlier … I heard we had 11 fumbles … How many did we lose ? … How many picked up or picked off and ran in for TDs? … How many short fields GC have to drive? … 76 yard TD pass called back on first play from scrimmage …  How many penalties in all? …  35 points … 500 yards offense … 25 first downs … No way you lose that game …

I can tell you that UC didn’t have as many penalty yards as GC.  I believe it was 6 turnovers.  3 returned for touchdown.  Which resulted in GC only having 350 yards of offense.  But the fourth quarter GC ran the ball right down UC throat to finish the game.

I had this game being a coin toss.. didn’t expect 61 from the pioneers, turnovers are apart of the game. Either way you have to give Coach Finley props from turning a program no coach in west tn would wanna touch to beating UC and Peabody in two different seasons

Absolutely 100%!!!

Just a few years ago, Gibson County was losing this same game 61-0...

I agree.  UC has always ran the double wing to perfection.  They were not in sync tonight. Take away the turnovers and you have  a much closer game. We had trouble stopping the run.  I would not count UC out.  They are like fine wine they only get better as time and the season goes on.  Great program and classy bunch of people. Good luck the rest to the season to the Tornadoes the rest of the season.

I'm not taking away from the Pioneers. It was a good win for our kids but we need to move on to next week.

UC had 11 fumbles by my count we lost 8 I believe the majority coming around midfield. Most were completely unforced. You just can’t do that and expect to win ballgames. Gibson turned those extra possessions into at least 42 points. Credit to them for capitalizing on those chances. It’s funny because last week IC didn’t have a single fumble and I thought we had gotten those kinks worked out. Congratulations to Gibson County on the win. Hope we run into you guys again down the road.

Win the turnover battle and you win the game the majority of the time.   The biggest takeaway I have from this game is the culture change at GC.  In the past when UC scores 21 unanswered and went up 21-14 the game was over.  Last night GC took the next possession and went down and scored. Got a stop and scored 21 unanswered themselves.    That’s a sign of a program making steps.

12 fumbles lost 7. 3 of those 7 were scoop and scores. Back breakers for our boys. Lots of short fields. We had 5 penalties for 35 yards and they had 4 for around 50 yards. The two biggest ones against UC were the first play ineligible man down field (very questionable but it got called) and a pass interference call that would have given UC the football back.  I felt after our 21-14 lead we had them on their heels but then the fumbles kept coming and GC never quit or gave in. Hats off to them for that effort.

    • hey goat! how’s monterey looking this year?!
    • several people actually. they said “snoball, do you know who railbird81 is on coacht?” I said, “never heard of her.” they said, “you ought to check it out they’re getting fired up on there like the old days.” well, you can imagine my disappointment when I came here expecting sharp, witty banter and all i found was more akin to toddlers slap fighting. and what looks like 1 guy/gal talking to themselves with multiple accounts.
    • Shopping? His family is loaded and he's 6'6 I'm pretty sure he could start anywhere in upper East TN,So no need to shop. Word is Witten got caught trying to work him out on campus and some 7 on 7 while playing athletics for Sullivan East. Word got around pretty quick and Someone turned them into TSSAA.
    • Quick update on Jacob -  Jacob celebrated his 16th birthday at Vanderbilt on Tuesday and has been in decent spirits.  His sense of humor has begun to show as he was visited by many friends.  He is swallowing a lot better now and has eaten some of his favorites (Chik-Fil-A and Five Guys).   He is getting prepared to head to Atlanta to the Shepherd Center first thing tomorrow morning.  His family has been waiting on insurance approval. In case you dont know the Shepherd Center it a world class facility and supposedly one of the best in the country for spinal injury rehab.  Praying for perfect results there. Considering the circumstances, Jacob is in decent spirits.  He has some reflexive movement in his legs which I think is probably a very positive sign.  Don't read too much into that just yet as there is no telling what the real prognosis is... just hopeful that is good thing.  I am really just happy that it seems like he has a punchers chance of getting something back.  He is a strong young man and very determined so I think he will fight as hard as he can in physical therapy while down in Atlanta. More than one of you has asked me about an address to send donations.  I know GoFundMe isn't for everyone.  If you want to go that route, you can make a check to "Blackman Wrestling Club" and we will pass anything received directly to the Kinderdines.   Jacob Kinderdine c/o Blackman Wrestling 4836 Trevino Court Murfreesboro, TN  37128 Also, want to thank everyone who has donated so far.  Jacobs dad will take a month off work and stay in Atlanta with him.  They need to learn how to take care of him and do home therapy work..... and surely Jacob will be glad his dad can be there.  All that could not happen without you all.  Depending on what happens, they will probably end up doing some home remodeling in order to accommodate Jacob at their home.  Thanks again. Here's a pic I lifted from Facebook of Jacob on Oxy talking to his Uncle.  LOL
