Seriously??   Torres lives and works in Illinois.  He has no connection to TN anymore and while he is a nice guy and all he wasn’t that connected to the wrestling community in this state at all even when he was living here.   We can not have someone who is living in Illinois serve as our state president.  If his position isn’t up for a vote this meeting because he is serving our Bowers term then I hope that he would do the honorable and decent thing and resign before this meeting so that we can vote in somebody to run our organization that lives here and is part of the TN wrestling community.

Just a thought, Hatcher is back at UTC and there is nobody more connected or dedicated to TN wrestling than Hatcher and he was the President before.

Let Dan coach!! We don’t want him tied up doing paperwork and going to meetings. Too much experience on the mat to do anything else.

Let me be very honest in saying that I like James Torres but I have a difficult time with the state chairman not living in Tennessee.  It's just not good business to allow that to take place!  Now if Torres has told you that he is definitely moving back to Tennessee in six months I may consider that acceptable.

    • Maybe some of the historians can get on here and help me out, but has anybody from Tennessee ever had as much success in an international style as Boykin? The only other Tennessee native I can remember competing for world team spots is the older Boykin in freestyle and he wasn't nearly as close as Nick has been to making world teams.
    • Whoever gets the job will have some opportunities to compete year end and year out. The sophomore class has some talent and the middle school has some good athletes coming thru. If the right coach comes thru he can build a winning program.
