The Fulton fans tell me besides being so young that they have lost a lot of kids to other schools.Said kids in Knox Co can pick any school they want and dont have to go to the school they are zoned for

I don't know of one public school personally that isn't open zoned. Every school has to deal with the potential for their middle school or high school kids to transfer or enroll at other schools.

Truth! And it is legal. If a kid doesn’t want to be a Falcon, I am perfectly fine with that. My problem is the blatant acts of some in the county that go out and recruit these young kids walking the halls of middle schools that feed several different high schools. We have all benefited at some point or another from out of zone kids but my problem is with the adults involved.

Nobody wants to speak on that however, let’s just look the other way as long as it benefits those we support.

Injuries and youth have been the downfall of the Falcons thus far.

Be careful about pointing fingers.  Not one school in Knox County doesn't play that game.  Some play it better than others, but they all play it to some extent.

I don’t see how you can say that I am pointing fingers, interesting that you are the first to respond however. I’m not going to get into crapfest over this. If the shoe fits, wear it!

As I stated, coaches that get to go into middle schools with open arms, whenever they want to, isn’t right. PERIOD. If you think it is then you are a huge part of the problem.

Read my previous messages..... my problem is not with kids choosing where they want to go as incoming 9th graders. I have zero issue with that. My issue is with coaches repeatedly going into middle schools weekly.

High school coaches or feeder program coaches?  The high school coaches can't do that per TSSAA.  Scott Cummings can attest to that from his Cleveland days.

If you have knowledge of high school coaches being inappropriate in the middle schools then let you local high school coach know and pass it on to the bunker in Hermitage.

And my words were just a reminder that everybody plays the game in Knox County, and pretty much beyond.  Those who claim that their favorite program is pristine are either naive or they are just fooling themselves.

Was the current starting QB recruited last year (prior to last season)

from another high school by a staff member?

Well, you are not oblivious good sir. I don’t need to report anything. It will never be taken care of appropriately. It will only hurt the student athletes of programs. Never the so called adults.

No, and you also didn't answer the question.

And as I have said many times before, I am all for freedom of choice in education for parents for their kids.  I have no problem with transfers, but sometimes the grass is not greener on the other side.  Too many parents don't think out the implications of what happens if things don't go as they hope.

It's not an easy decision to make, but the coaches can't force somebody to transfer.

No Dog in the fight, however, I notice that this was the Clinton vs. Oak Ridge thread.... all of a sudden we are talking about Knox County Schools and the recruiting services. Ill go ahead and start up the topic on another Thread to make this very interesting for discussion!

On the other Hand, Oak Ridge should take care of Clinton very easily this Friday! I know it is a rivalry to some in the community, players, and admin! However, over the past years/seasons. Oak Ridge has dominated the series.

    • He resigned smh, and have you ever heard of charged but not convicted. Some people in this county baffle me with their need to slander others. Have you asked any of the 30+ parents that signed a petition to get him reinstated at the board meeting this week how they feel about this? Just let it play out, at the end of the day the only people that will bring TC back are the ones that know what its about at its core.    People hate losing and they aren't used to it at TC. I for 1, and I'm sure others too, understand having a dip in talent and not being able to compete for a state title every year. But in the past, TC teams have outworked more talented teams, they didn't continuously lose the turnover battle, they didn't commit 8+ penalties in several games each season, and I believe several of the folks in town that want Blake out feel as if he is neglecting the history of the program. This is from a source that used to be extremely close to the program (not me lol), Blake gets out of school midday and the players show up and there is no practice plan or itinerary.  I also understand those that are on team Blake, when he has loads of talent, he wins. He does know football and he is a tremendous DC, and if the rumors are true then he will do great things. As for the board member issue, it is what it is, everyone that's true to the county know that and nothing has changed. I agree though that they should strive to make the facilities as good as we can. And as far as potential candidates, I agree there is very few options. West, Vetetoe (yes I know), and couple others that could have some interest. Whatever happens is massive for the program during a pivotal time before the next big wave of stars make their way through.
    • McKenzie had no trouble with Huntingdon.
    • Has BA landed any cornfed cowboys to block up front?
    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..
