It’s fairly easy to obtain a transfer as long as you apply when the transfer window is open. There are several permissible reasons and a good chunk are granted.

All Knox County Schools recruit to some degree, "HATE TO BREAK THE NEWS"! This starts by the schools themselves with alumni and community, next the high school coaches, then the youth organizations, and work all the way down into church.

5. Bearden

There is an area right outside 640 and right inside 640 that is closer to Norwood Middle than any other middle school.  It's like a bermuda triangle area of Knoxville.  Would need to rezone that area.

Until Knoxville starts adding cookies, pies, and GARBAGE SERVICES, they are considered amateurs.

Also you have to start recruiting out of state like some schools have in the past.  You get TWO qb's from one family from South Carolina you can talk.

Rankin's new recruiter still carry his clip board up there now?

I think you mean Norwood Elementary, not middle. Northwest Middle School does fit that bill though.

Not easy to fix at all. Northwest MS, West Valley MS, Holston MS, and Cedar Bluff MS are all split.

You're correct.  Norwood Elementary feeds into Northwest Middle which is right down the road.  I got them confused. You would think i would know better with the line of work i do

You are correct again and would be tough to do.

Northwest MS feeds Powell, Central, Karns, West, and Fulton

West Valley MS Feeds Bearden and Farragut

Holston MS Feeds AE, Fulton, and Gibbs

Cedar Bluff MS Feeds Hardin Valley and Bearden

You've even got kids that live in Holston Hills that go to Holston MS that are zoned for Carter HS.

Things have gotten a little better now that Hardin Valley and Gibbs each have middle schools. I still think the Northwest MS situation is a joke, ever since Rule HS closed.
