Great effort by EV. Made some good adjustments at halftime to slow LC down to stay in the game. LC out gained EV by nearly 200 total yds while rushing for 392 with 20 1st downs. EV threw the ball well completing 13 passes for 205 with 3 TDs and 2 INTS. LC best DB did not play, but should be back after the bye week (which I wouldn’t have mentioned if LC would have lost).  Good luck the rest of the way.

This game was won in the trenches. Eagles gave it a valiant effort, but you can only go up against 50-100 lbs more than you for so long. And especially when those smaller linemen are going both ways. Looked like LC had a D line and an O line. Saw very little of them going both ways. Guess it helps when you dress 60-70 kids though. Congrats to the Panthers. On to Summertown after a week off.

3 of our 4 D line starts on the O line

LC plays about 7 or 8 players on the D line fairly regular. Both starting guards and both Tackles and the TE are in the rotation. LC is playing a ton of young kids and they are getting better. Sometimes they play like Freshman and Sophomores though. EV played hard and had a good plan.

    • I think they will find a good back, maybe not a Dozier, but I think one that can do the job. Same way with the receivers. I think Coach Rang is an excellent judge of talent from what I have seen and he will put the best players on the field.  As for the indoor facility, I hope there are plans down the road, I know in the new world of wide open recruiting, facilities matter. I was very glad to see the nice updates to the track facilities by the way, track has always been a big part of ORHS Athletics, as the poster said, going back to the track championships in the 50s and 60s, A lot of football players run track and it helps them become faster and quicker in the fall.
    • Yea, they have Davey quaking in his boots. Someday they'll even have a winning season.
    • Guessing this may have been the closest I can think of...... Bill Harlow: (from wiki) After leaving OSU, Harlow went on to win three national titles in freestyle wrestling.  He won a silver medal at the 1970 World Wrestling Championships, falling to Soviet Gennady Strakhov in the finals at 90 kg.
    • The Simpson brothers had good freestyle careers.
