FORREST AT SUMMERTOWN

Entertaining region game last Friday night.

Summertown is a physical team with real good size up front. They will be a playoff team and have a good chance of winning their first game against Region 6 no matter what they are seeded.

The toughness of #6 can't be overstated Friday. The kid was ill. Nauseous and vomiting while going in and out of the game. He went over 100 yards and made the play of the game (Twice). It's a shame Summertown didn't get to see the healthy version. He did not look like himself in the first half and gained 3 yards on plays he usually breaks. Play of the game was a 20 yard TD run in the third quarter where he broke 5, 6, 7 tackles and scored but was called back for a phantom holding call. They run the same exact play on the next snap and he goes 25 yards breaking 6, 7, 8 tackles along the way for the go ahead score.

Everyone is banged up to some extent at this point in the season but the Forrest squad is a shell of what they were in weeks 1-2. Ankle sprains, concussions, viruses,  cartilage tears, broken hand bones, foot bones, sprains, and now appendicitis has taken a toll. We've had several key starters out every game since Portland and now we have guys who aren't fully healthy gutting it out because there are no back ups. There is no point in even trying to field a JV team in 2019 when your varsity can't dress 30 healthy kids. Enjoy the bye and sub as soon and as much as you can against Community and Cascade and hope #6 and company are back for the season finale.
