We really wonder how we stack up against the middle Tennessee teams. I believe they will be better than we already thought. I just hope we start the game better. We cannot keep waiting till late in the third to start playing.  I except a great game.

I except a great game too.... lol.

I stand corrected on the DII timing, they did come over in 2017 and the last few came over this year (USJ is the one new to the region, thus the mixup). They certainly have not been quite as successful since the move and have nowhere near the athletes they had in 14-15-16, but seem to have adjusted and are faring better this year. DA has certainly been a formidable opponent for them since the move, but after losing so much to graduation, NCS bested them in their early season matchup. Those two teams will be USJ's opponents the next two weeks and those matchups should start to clarify the traffic jam at the top of the region standings.

As to the statements of tradertwo, we have not had the pleasure of any postseason rematches in the first couple of years with this coaching staff. I am hoping that what you say is correct, as the rematch is always the more important of the two. This is a two way street as well. Beating a team once is one thing, but beating them a second time is a much bigger challenge.

I still think turnovers are the key to this game. Every game to date for the Bruins has been heavily affected by turnovers, either for or against. The Bruin secondary has ballhawks, with double digit INTs through 5 games. If USJ is able to slow the ground game and force obvious passing situations, that can prove to be a major advantage.

They gotta loosen up the sweater vester. Too tight..... restricts blood flow to the brain.

No sweater vests at USJ. We lounge around in ancient Greek robes while being fanned and fed grapes.

Of course this should leave plenty of time for posting on the T ;)

Agreed. Hopefully the first half against CA was a wake-up call, as that was a very tough team to be winless.

Odom and Shields on this game:

These two along with Fayette Academy are the three undefeated teams in Division II-A West play. USJ has played well behind quarterback Andrew Smith, who stepped into the role after starter Cody Smith got hurt in Week 2. Nashville Christian is giving up 11.8 points per game, while USJ is giving up 8.2.

Shields' pick: Nashville Christian 27, USJ 20

Odom's pick: Nashville Christian 35, USJ 31

All that USJ wants is a first down anyway<_<.

    • Shopping? His family is loaded and he's 6'6 I'm pretty sure he could start anywhere in upper East TN,So no need to shop. Word is Witten got caught trying to work him out on campus and some 7 on 7 while playing athletics for Sullivan East. Word got around pretty quick and Someone turned them into TSSAA.
    • Quick update on Jacob -  Jacob celebrated his 16th birthday at Vanderbilt on Tuesday and has been in decent spirits.  His sense of humor has begun to show as he was visited by many friends.  He is swallowing a lot better now and has eaten some of his favorites (Chik-Fil-A and Five Guys).   He is getting prepared to head to Atlanta to the Shepherd Center first thing tomorrow morning.  His family has been waiting on insurance approval. In case you dont know the Shepherd Center it a world class facility and supposedly one of the best in the country for spinal injury rehab.  Praying for perfect results there. Considering the circumstances, Jacob is in decent spirits.  He has some reflexive movement in his legs which I think is probably a very positive sign.  Don't read too much into that just yet as there is no telling what the real prognosis is... just hopeful that is good thing.  I am really just happy that it seems like he has a punchers chance of getting something back.  He is a strong young man and very determined so I think he will fight as hard as he can in physical therapy while down in Atlanta. More than one of you has asked me about an address to send donations.  I know GoFundMe isn't for everyone.  If you want to go that route, you can make a check to "Blackman Wrestling Club" and we will pass anything received directly to the Kinderdines.   Jacob Kinderdine c/o Blackman Wrestling 4836 Trevino Court Murfreesboro, TN  37128 Also, want to thank everyone who has donated so far.  Jacobs dad will take a month off work and stay in Atlanta with him.  They need to learn how to take care of him and do home therapy work..... and surely Jacob will be glad his dad can be there.  All that could not happen without you all.  Depending on what happens, they will probably end up doing some home remodeling in order to accommodate Jacob at their home.  Thanks again. Here's a pic I lifted from Facebook of Jacob on Oxy talking to his Uncle.  LOL
