MCMINN VS LOUDON

I agree Central's schedule is pretty tough although, against McMinn County, Sweetwater, Redbank and Meigs, they have lost by a combined 165-2. I don't care who your playing, that is alarming. 116-0 in the last two games.

I may get some hate from saying this, but I don't believe that Davis is the savior that Central fans think. I hear "it takes time" from a lot, and how he is changing the culture. I also read where he says his kids aren't playing hard when they got blown out. I know that many think he's a great coach but in the last 5 years at Polk he had only 1 winning season AND he had back to back winless seasons. I know there are excuses and reasons why like "no talent" and other things you can blame it on. BUT couldn't you say the same for Central the last 5 years also?

It don't seem there has been a vast improvement in the coaching change that others think. 22 seniors on this team and 116-0 in a region and rival game combined does not show much hope.

For me the hope is getting the athletes back on the football field.  I have said this many times, I don't understand why so many of them do not play.  If I am Davis, I would focus on encouraging those kids to come out.  I also hope that the middle school program promotes this!

Would you say it's the lack of talent is the reason Central can't compete? Over coaching or scheming or motivation?

I cannot say because I am not there.  It is hard to keep motivation, imo, when you have been through the past two games they have played.  Sweetwater game could have potentially went either way, thus Sweetwater battled Meigs.  I do however see kids, even some that could have helped the 2014 10-2 team that could have potentially helped.  For some reason athletes are not interested in football at Central.  I really don't think it is a lack of effort on anyones part.  I really feel that if interest would peak back to dual sport athletes, it would help.  Numbers create competition, competition creates motivation.

Davis used to dominate Meigs every year at Polk. Central doesn't have the players. Turn on the film from Friday and you will see. The talent gap is wide.

Starts in the wieght room in the off-season. Got to find away to get those multi-sport atheletes to lift wieghts during the off-season.

It looked like Central quit Friday night, Meigs put the young guys in and they  drive the ball straight down the field and scored, then Center brought in the young guys.

    • As I said somewhere earlier in the thread, the original plans had no outdoor athletic facilities being part of the campus.  The original plan was for HVA to use facilities at nearby schools.  Very late in the process they came up with a plan and found budget to have minimal facilities and crammed them in to space that never was intended for athletic facilities.
    • Agreed, the way the field is turned you get the evening sun blasting right into the press box making filming a nightmare there, plus its so low.  The field is land locked and parking is a nightmare too. Seems like Knox County could have done a lot better there with the design and the quality.
    • I think this upcoming team may be pretty good, they will definately be better up front and if they can replace Dozier, Heyward and Rembert, they can be real good. They have the same strange schedule, but this time with 5 straight home games. The road games at Jeff County, Powell will be tough to open up with and the back side at Bearden is the tough game there.  One question I had if anyone knows: There has been some talk of an indoor practice facility in the past, with the new track area now more of a track area, that kind of leaves a need for a football practice area. Just sayin....
    • I find it hard to believe that 70% of a schools enrollment is zoned for another school district
    • I was told that the indoor facility is happening regardless of the vote on the taxes but it would be a much bigger project with more funds if they vote goes through
