People are always so sensitive about this topic. I’ve said it before, demographics have a lot to do with the overall talent in a specific area. Coaching would be the next important piece. Typically you would look at metro areas as having the best crop of athletes.

Demographics might be bad but the small class A team in Huntland competes every year.  They are 4 and 3 with 2 losses coming to a solid 2A school and South Pitt. The other loss was state ranked Fayetteville.  Leave the man alone he will be okay.  FC dont have the best talent anymore.

Also has to do with there are not that many farm boys around that are used to throwing 1,000+ one hundred pound bales of hay around any more.  In the old days Coaches had their teams out working as hay crews because of lack of weight rooms.  This had two advantages not found today.  First it built up their muscles, and two it built up their total endurance due to the heat both in the fields and putting it up in barns. 

Today they sit in the air conditioned cabs of their tractors putting up round bales!

This was also the time when the T$$AA stayed where they belonged and did not sit in judgment of every aspect of programs.  Also a time of tough Coaches instead of 'Friends and Counselors'!

Anyone remember that veteran of the Bear Bryant school of Coaching at Lincoln County?  How about the one at Brentwood Academy?  Those two gentlemen produced WINNING teams and players of strength and character!

Firing coaches all the time does not help a program. Give them a few years to develop some players.

They screwed up hiring mckraylon to begin with. Yeah he knows a little football but he's a compulsive liar and two faced back stabber...i wouldn't hire him to be my manager!!

With my outlook I don't really need to be on here. I just have a problem saying what I feel. When I feel it..and personally don't really care what people think. That's my world now!!

Huntland has never "competed" every year until Reed was hired. They were a perennial doormat that rarely made playoffs. Reed is the only landmark on that programs timeline that constitutes a change in culture. Anyone that understands football in that county, knows his coaching & presence has had a monumental shift in that downtrodden program.
